I haven’t posted any of this online but lowkey I might make a master post of my hcs because I completely agree with you! They are so much more than human and I think their physical forms reflect how strange their existences are. I also feel like the older the nation is, the stranger they become. Yao’s irises look like disks of flattened gold, completely artificial and cold. His hair is less ‘hair’ and thin strands of silk (which behaves rather strangely in water).

YAO is a fucking horror to behold if you aren’t expecting him.

Hell even some of his fellow Nations tread carefully around him, because my God, he’s been around for such a long time, I can absolutely see there being some kind of mixture of awe, respect and fear in amongst some of the younger Nations.
