Snaptail - Thunderclan Warrior - she/her - 17 moons

Snaptail is a young and fiery warrior, at only one moon old she snook out of camp during a storm, she quickly reached the great pines only to have a branch fall and snap her tail in two. She was shunned for her misbehaviour, it didn’t take her long to realize she’d never outlive it. While in the medicine cat den she made friends with Silentpaw, a kind and gently apprentice. She avoided punishment by starting the unfavourable apprentice duties as a kit, such as checking the elders for ticks, which was made more unfavourable, as they only had interest in pestering her over her escaping act. Her mother, Gingerbelly died from eating a bad rat, which was fairly common in Thunderclan, not being too close with her mother, and too stubborn to grief, Snapkit swallowed her feelings. When her mentorship with Fogpelt finally began she proved to be a very skilled apprentice, though her restlessness and bitter nature held her back from being the ideal young cat. Fellow apprentice, Weaselpaw, was somewhat of the opposite, not particularly talented, but very eager to please. The two started off with somewhat of a rivalry, but slowly built a light-hearted friendship, that was until Weaseltuft was made a warrior early so she could officially become mates with her mentor, Beetlestripe, which infuriated Snaptail, but Weaseltuft didn’t seem to mind, or at least, she didn’t show it. Soon after, Snaptail was made a full warrior, one moon earlier than average. She now finds herself at a loss, she hates performing Thunderclan’s duties, only to have her hard work be gobbled up by the divine, but the thought of settling down with a mate and having kits makes her sick, she’s been deemed “undesirable” by the clan, and she couldn’t care less.

I was scrolling through your blog when for some reason I had this vivid imagery of snaptail beating up wrentail with a 4 prong cane because she found out that he was abusing Mudpaw

I’m sorry if this has been asked and answered before (I looked through her tag and couldn’t find anything on it) but what was the scrapped storyline that involved Pearfur?

I don’t think I’ve talked about this in depth before! Pearfur was originally going to be an older warrior, and she was going to be Whitepaw’s mom and Snaptail’s sister! This was waayyy before the current version of the story so lots of characters and storylines have changed pretty drastically.

Snaptail was originally designed as a younger warrior, and she was Mudpaw’s mom. Mudpaw’s dad was going to be Foxjaw (who, for all intents and purposes, was a completely different character at the time; he got a drastic design and character overhaul, so the only similarity is literally the name lol). However, Foxjaw ended up being unfaithful and was also in a relationship with Pearfur at the same time. So there was gonna be drama about Snaptail having to raise Mudpaw by herself with all her anxieties and Pearfur not realizing that her mate was a garbage guy who left her sister for her, and Whitepaw and Mudpaw would be half brothers but also kind of cousins??? So. Yeah. That storyline didn’t ever end up going anywhere so I scrapped it lol

Pearfur didn’t have too much to her character in this storyline but she was pretty different I think, a bit of a colder personality but still very protective of her family.

Foxjaw used to be just Generic Douchebag, his character is infinitely more interesting to me now haha

I actually really liked the old characterization for Snaptail (her whole thing was that she was NOT ready to be a parent and was just generally Very Anxious but still doing her very best for mudpaw to be a good mom, kinda failing and accidentally teaching lots of unhealthy coping mechanisms, but still Trying Her Best) but I LOVE gramma snaptail. weird old lady <3 <3
