What are Embertooth's relationships with his clanmates like? I'm just curious and he has such a cool design. I also just discovered that Foxjaw was his dad so whats their relationship like? (May or may not thinking about attacking him for artfight :3)
Embertooth's interactions with just about everyone in the clan are all filtered through his tough-guy persona. He doesn't really allow himself to get close to others, emotionally, except for Pearfur (and sort of Laureltail). As a result, he has a lot of surface-level camaraderie with his clanmates, but has very few deep friendships.
As far as his relationship with Foxjaw, things are... kind of awkward. Foxjaw is aware that there's a distance there that wasn't present when Embertooth was younger, but he also wants to give Ember space to be his own man (cat?) and figure out who he is. He's letting Embertooth come to him, if that makes sense.
For Embertooth, it feels weird to try to talk to Foxjaw because of how much he changed during his apprenticeship. His father is very emotionally intelligent, and picked up on his moods easily when Ember was younger, so there was a bit of tension between them while Ember was learning from Wrentail and began getting more closed-off. I think maybe Fox made a well-intentioned comment about Wrentail's training that came off as judgmental, and Ember got defensive about it, which lead to a period of silence that just. kept growing. Now, even if Ember wants to reconnect, he feels awkward about engaging, and defaults to snappish responses as a defense mechanism.
