Anyway, I'm writing a loooong post about Yumihisu/Erehisu and while re-reading the manga I found these two absolutely wholesome gems in ch. 40:
Firstly, Historia immediately hoping that Ymir wanted to be her friend, bless her heart ok 😭
Secondly, Historia being too short to fit in the panel...I repeat sHE'S TOO SHORT TO FIT IN THE PANEL ASDFGHJKL
I’m yodelling, this literally represents Ymir the first’s life as well. She was hated just for existing because she was a “slave”. She let people use her to bring them happiness until she “died”. But before she did, she made a wish (to the flowers) that if she could be reborn, she’d fight for her freedom. And I think for Ymir, that’s where the AT comes in. It’s that part of her that was “reborn” and it always moves forward no matter what to attain its freedom. It won’t stop for no one which is selfish yes, but that’s because Ymir was selfless her whole life and wished otherwise.
Isayama is amazing.

My thoughts on SNK S3 episode 3
I just finished watching that episode, and that ending got me so hyped now !!
What a good episode ! That’s the first episode of the season I really liked, all the talking and the backstories, Hanji’s spurt of anger, Levi’s shirt, Jean’s hat, the cliffhanger at the end, Erwin’s words to Reeves’ wife and daughter...and even the preview got me so so hyped about the next episode, the shit will finally get real (and we’re gonna see Marlowe and hitch, I missed’em so much )
that’s the real beginning of the uprising arc imo, and since I haven’t reread the manga, I still don’t quite remember which scenes they skipped and which they left, but compared to last week’s episode, which felt rushed imo, this one was well paced.
the ONLY thing I want to complain about is...MIKASA.
WIT, please, do us a favor, stop wanting to turn her into some “Ereh” freak, especially when, even in the manga, her character development is slow, so if after 3 seasons she remains the same as in season 1, It will be really hard to develop her well enough. I’m really worried about her...
Well, now it’s time to wait for August’s chapter !
The theme of Eldians wishing they were never born connects all the way back to Ymir too.
I’m convinced this means that the Eldians who make a wish with a lot of resolve at their deathbeds are granted a second chance at life (there might be other conditions that need to be met here, like having suffered extensively maybe, and/or sacrificing yourself to improve the lives of others).
There’s a lot of emphasis on the wishing part during Ymir’s monologue in any case. And Zeke was also thinking about his mission while he was losing consciousness.
Things you like about Yumikuri in the manga and in the anime
1) Ymir calling Historia out on her bullshit and teaching her to love life and herself
In chapter 40, Ymir says that she “wished so hard” to be reborn with a second chance and we know Zeke didn’t want to die yet in 115, so I think that’s the condition for being granted access to the PATHS dimension? It literally provides people who suffered a second chance?
