Hi! I love your interpretations, and I was wondering if you could answer a question! I hope I’ll manage to make it clear enough… ><
So I was wondering about the way Hange named her inventions, the Thunder Spear and the Executioner from Hell.
Does that portray Hange naming things in a badass, over the top manner, or more of a simply descriptive manner? Because on one hand, she has an object that looks like a spear and has the effect of a lightning bolt, so she calls it a thunder spear… That’s just calling it what it is. But on the other hand, Eren first calls it simply an iron rod, and Hange objects calling it Thunder Spear, which is undoubtedly cooler. And the same thing happens with the Executioner from Hell, which Zackly simply calls Titan Guillotine, which seems less over the top than what Hange first called it in her burst of excitement.
Because of this, to me it seems that Hange has a rather enthusiastic, almost childish way to name her inventions. So I was wondering about the type of vocabulary that is used in japanese. Is it meant to sound badass or not particularly? What can we say about Hange and her naming pattern?
Have a nice day!

@followfire thank you!!
yes, these names Hans used sounds far more enthusiastic than Titan Guillotine,etc. This shows that Hanji is really a maverick. Many other characters in shounen manga have similar styles, but it's not common for adults. We can think Hanji has chunibyo but she doesn't realize that, lmao
