~ These are taken from a future Redemption’s Promise AU AU in which Will’s letters aren’t a thing, and Beckett never comes. It’s still in a very rough draft, so things might change by the time I post it.I’ll do them in the order in which they appear. :)

~ This last one is from a Redemption’s Promise sequel that I’ve been calling Logs of the Ferryman. It’s a series of journal entries written by Will as the new captain of The Flying Dutchman. The idea is that many of the souls he ferries are dead characters from other fandoms. He records the noteworthy ones and sometimes even offers them a place among his crew.

‘Another strange one today. Oddly dressed. Incredibly talkative, mostly about his wife. He showed a great interest in the workings of the ship, and told me he is a helmsman in his own right. I asked if he wanted to stay for a bit, seeing as my own helmsman has recently moved on, and he agreed. ‘Might be fun to try out this kind of ship for a while. As long as there are no gorram reavers.’ It was clearly a joke, so I laughed, but I have no idea what he meant.’

2) What song fits your pairing the most?
There are so many. Like I literally have a playlist full of them. So I’ll narrow it down a bit by going with my Redemption’s Promise AU specifically. I’ve had several songs that have inspired different parts of the fic…but the ones that have the largest throughlines would be:
King and Lionheart - Of Monsters and Men (From James’ POV)
Love Like You - Rebecca Sugar (From Elizabeth’s POV)
Really…I feel like I could do a whole post about the music behind this fic…maybe I will.
5) Favorite canon moment of them?
Elizabeth: ‘You’re a fine man, James.’James: *adorable nervous smile*Me: oH NO
But pretty much every interaction she has with Scruffington is also 11/10.And the whole ‘choosing a side’ scene.Honestly? All of them??
18) Did you once/ever dislike one/both of them?
Gracious. Well, I was thirteen when I saw CotBP for the first time, and I related almost completely to Elizabeth. (Orlando Bloom was also my first huge celebrity crush, so I was pretty firmly a Willabeth fan back then. lol) I never disliked James, but until the end of the film, when he gives her up, I took the film at face value…thought he was mostly after her for a ‘smart match.’ At the end though, I realized he’d truly loved her all along. Then the film came out on dvd, and after I watched the deleted scenes (you know, where we actually get to see James’ character), he became my favorite. That only strengthened in the sequels.
There were times in DMC and AWE where I didn’t understand Elizabeth’s motives during my first viewing or when I thought she was being unfair to the other characters…but I never really disliked her either. I did dislike how hard she was on James in AWE…but that’s because I knew the whole story. Couldn’t really blame her for that.
So no. I always thought they were both the bees knees, and now I ship them so hard it’s become a defining characteristic of my personality at large.
I wish you would write a fic where James goes with Lizzy instead of dying in AWE.
Honestly, that’s what my very first version of Redemption’s Promise was. It was James tagging along for the rest of the series and Elizabeth ultimately falling in love with him.
I didn’t incorporate the ‘Time-Travel’ element into the idea until a couple years ago when I ran across a Mass Effect fic on Fanfiction.net that did something similar. The fic was told from a romanced Garrus Vakarian’s perspective, beginning with his Paragon Shepard failing to save the universe. When the reapers kill him, he wakes up on the Citadel the morning before he met her, remembering everything. Now, the interesting part of this fic was that the Shepard he met in the restart was a Renegade, so similar but also very different. I found it to be an incredibly interesting premise but the author ended up abandoning the work, and then later, taking it down entirely.
However, that whole ‘groundhog day but only once’ thing really stuck with me, and I eventually combined it with the other plans I had for my ongoing Norribeth fantasy…you know how it is: when you have a fic in your head but absolutely no intention of writing it. You just kind of hope someone else will write it for you.
In April, the dam holding back my muse finally broke, and I had to finally put pen to paper. It was a devise I had never seen used in the Norribeth fandom before, and I was eager to exorcise my plot-demon…I never anticipated the whole thing to be so well-received.
So all this to say…I may never write the specific fic you wish I would write…but that doesn’t mean the one I’m currently working on won’t fit that role.~

7) When is your preferred time to write?I usually write after work, and since I work until 10pm, that usually means I’m writing between 12am and 4am on a fairly regular basis. I like writing when it’s dark out. I don’t really know why.
17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.So, I have ideas for other fics, but seeing as I won’t allow myself to actually start writing anything new until my current project is finished, I don’t have any lines written for them. However, I can give you a line from the next chapter of Redemption’s Promise:‘Fight, James. Survive. That’s an order. Your Captain commands it.’
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?FOUND FAMILY. Honestly, that shit is my jam. It’s ever so healing.
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?I got into fic back in high school when my otp was Vincent Valentine and Tifa Lockheart from Final Fantasy 7. I’m pretty sure the first fic I read was Pick Me Up by The Tiramisu of Impending Doom. It’s pretty shameless fluff.
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?That’s a hard one because my preferred method is a mixture of all three…but I’m going to have to say smut. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ No one can hurt me with this. I know what I am.
