Being thrown back was something Shiki was anticipating. It was all but routine with such an explosive weapon. His feet were already grounded before he even pulled the trigger, but having the boom pressured tightly between their arms caused the tengu to actually be propelled. Rather than simply knocking the weapons away from each other, the force was great enough to force him to dig his heels further and send him sliding away several feet.
This one is such a beast... He couldn't help but lick his lips.
"Aha. I should've figured you bein' the quiet type. Bet that makes you a bit of a loner too, eh? Those traits do go hand in hand."
Seeing Bane be plainly open as he fought with the star burst in his eyes was very tempting to take advantage of. Normally he would have, but he instead took that moment to simply shift several steps to his left. Contrary of his target's want to end things quickly, Shiki was the type to prolong and play. He wanted the other to be more aware of what trickery he was capable of. He wanted the idea of a mocking copy of 'chivalry' to bite.
It wouldn't be until the Warrior of Light looked more clear eyed before the enemy's blade swung again. This time, it was a deep arc from below. Again another bullet would be triggered, causing the weapon to engulf itself in roaring flames as it came up to greet Bane's face.
Shiki continued to believe he was the better within this duel. He always was, after all. The lack of challenge has clearly left him much too cocky, and the lack of punishment of having such an attitude has only led it to grow into blinding his current judgement.
