there were times when the warlock was ridiculously brilliant. his analyses of aether and its elemental pull were of textbook quality. if one didn't know him, it would have seemed like a professor unable to tell the difference between a lecture and idle chitchat. however, there were times that booksmarts couldn't handle the simplicity of common sense. in this instance, he was sat in front of a window, slightly cracked, using bottles, dish-ware, and other books to keep his tomes and parchment in place instead of simply closing the window.
