The only good thing that’s come from being snowed in since Friday is that I’ve finished two books. And I’m almost done with a third and I started a fourth.
I’m hoping that the snow and more so, the ice, melts enough that we can get one of the cars out so we can go to the grocery store today.
Today is AWESOME! 🤘🚲🤘 #30daysofbiking #fatbike #fatbikes #biketowork #minnesnowta #snowmagedon #wintersnotover #cantstopwontstop #ridewithfroth #tonkacycleandski
Time flies....
I feel as if I’ve been missing in action the last while and haven’t posted or caught up on my favorite blogs. I had to check on everyone tonight. I’ve been so busy and just so overwhelmed that I was also avoiding social media. I couldn’t really concentrate and my iPad was just too much focus for me. Things are still crazy busy but I don’t have that panicked overwhelmed feeling anymore.
I put in about 8hrs extra last week and managed to meet all of my reporting deadlines for our corporate office as well as the minister of healths office. We are still in the middle of one hell of an outbreak and the staff are dropping like flies with symptoms but the facility is starting to recover. We just need to stay the path and all will be well. I got hit with it last Friday and spent 22hrs vomiting....not fun I tell you. I’ve been having to work more on the floor as an actual general duty nurse rather than my office as a supervisor due to staffing shortages. I had to pull out my uniforms and holy cow, many of them are getting too big. I have a few CCAs at work who I will give them to. They don’t have allot of extra money and are raising kids so they could use the break.
Missed the gym Friday of course due to being ill. I never workout Saturday or Sunday as my body needs the break. Went back to the gym yesterday and it was really hard work. My body is just exhausted after being ill and my fibromyalgia is really flaring up due to the weather changes. Add in not eating well for 4 days due to stomach virus and it was tough. I walked out feeling exhausted and sore and not in a good way. Decided to call my trainer and cancel today for a couple of reasons.
We have had the worst winter storm I have seen here in a couple of years. So much snow in 48hrs it was crazy. I got stuck leaving our driveway this morning as did many people. I struggled and dug my car out for 45min. One of my neighbours finally came home from working nights and he pushed me out. I got to work and my legs muscles were so cold they were in spasm. I had to wrap myself in a warm blanket to get them to stop. Everywhere you went there were cars stuck and abandoned. Our one garage door is piled 3/4 of the way up with snow. I have amazing neighbours and as my husband is away he blew out my drive both yesterday and today. I did still need to clear our front roof as well as our deck. These are a couple of reasons that I cancelled my appointment with my trainer today. I spent 5hrs outside clearing snow and barely made a dent. I managed to get the hot tub dug out so that I can check and maintain it and get the worst of the snow pulled off the front roof but the rest will have to wait until my husband is home.
I left work feeling horrible. I was running a low grade fever, headache and just generally feeling unwell. Another reason I cancelled on the gym today. After all the time outside tonight (some things don’t wait on being sick)I am wrapped up in blankets with Tylenol on board and a cup of tea. Hubby is home Monday to stay and he gets to clean the rest of the snow. Tomorrow is not a day I see my trainer and I might just stay home from work if I feel this nasty. Time for some serious self care so that my body doesn’t revolt and my fibromyalgia doesn’t go into overdrive.
If you’ve read this whole post...thank you for listening. I swear I’ll be back to my usual positive and hard working self soon. 😉
