i need to know how shane would react to ilya's family. like maybe alexei heard he was getting married to shane and decided to fly in and see if he could manipulate more of a cash flow.... and ilya is so tired and sad and resigned and shane is fucking P I S S E D that this man dares to hurt his baby like this.... just need a good hit of that protective shane 👌👌🚬🚬

i love to get soap opera with it i cant lie. i was a riverdale girlie. i grew up on eastenders. neighbours was That Serious in my house. S O i want to see shane in a fistfight w alexei like genuinely……….like idk maybe its the rehearsal dinner before the wedding (bc they have a Real Wedding in this au. shane had a huuuuge fancy wedding w rose and it was lovely but he wants that with ilya) and alexei shows up . maybe ilya invited him or maybe he just knew it was happening and saw an Opportunity
and it kind of plays out similar to the funeral in that its ilya and alexei yelling at each other in a back room until sveta and shane turn up like. what is Happening. but instead of calling sveta a whore he tries to throw hands with ilya which just. results in him getting absolutely fucking flattened by 200lbs of Pure Recently Retired Hockey Player
bc like. okay the way shane views it. alexei is here on his dime. he’s eating his food in the venue he rented for his wedding with the man he loves. he will not disrespect ilya. he will not try to make him feel small or wrong or unloved. he would dare to call him a faggot and then ask for his money? it’s unthinkable!!!
and. look shane doesnt want to Hurt alexei in any meaningful way because he’s ilya’s brother, and for whatever reason ilya does still have a soft spot for his family. he can respect that, even if he doesn’t understand it. but he’s NOT going to let anyone hurt his soon-to-be-husband, even if ilya can take care of himself, even if he doesn’t need shane to throw punches for him.
that’s the more soap opera-y route but also. imagine shane and ilya coming home from dinner one day and they turn the lights on and alexei is standing in their kitchen. and he’s like wow, ilya, you have done very well for yourself. i can see why you would abandon your family to be a rich man’s pet, if this is the way you live.
and it’s so fucking tense and ilya is so flustered and angry and embarrassed and tired because he should’ve seen this coming! he should have known that, as soon as their relationship hit the press, someone from his fucking family would be sniffing around like a dog begging for scraps. he’s given alexei so much already, so much of his scholarship money and his sponsorships and selling the things that shane had given him early on to pay off alexei’s gambling debts.
shane doesn’t play though, this guy broke into his house and talked down to his boyfriend so. shane has an Obvious Physical Advantage over alexei, he’s taller and stronger and older and gets in fights for a living. so. good luck alexei!
