can I ask what is the point of teaching "classic" books over and over again in literature class? we've had the option to read The Great Gatsby for the past four years, and now suddenly it's mandatory. I can guarantee you 100% that every thought, idea, or interpretation of this book has already been posted and shared. Why teach kids to repeat other's thoughts when we should be teaching them to create their own?
