Steven universe hate really did poison the brains of so many people. They're all on twitter now btw, accusing everything they hate of bean mouth syndrome. Imagine thinking Luca and Turning Red were inspired by the 'calarts style', and not the extremely influential studio Aardman - which, by the way, is an incredibly charming and humble style that fits the tone of these movies wonderfully.

Yes spiderverse, arcane, and K-pop demon hunters have great artstyles, obviously heavily influenced by anime. But they're not appropriate for, low stakes, goofy stories. Whereas Wallace and gromit is the epitome of humble storytelling. Yes one style is more 'attractive' (??? their words, not mine) but, I dunno maybe animation isn't about physical attractiveness.

I remember being ten years old. Ten! (10). When I realized I wasn't *normal* about the Beatles.

There was an assignment in music class to pick a musician or band and give a presentation about them. I didn't even need to think.

When my Mom told my extended family over dinner that evening that I would be giving a presentation on the Beatles for school, my cousins, aunts and uncles all started singing "Yellow Submarine" at me, like I was a fucking child (I was).

I remember feeling SO condescended to. I was like, ACTUALLY I'm using We Can Work It Out to showcase the Lennon/McCartney songwriting collaboration process. Don't come at me with that kiddie bullshit. I am a scholar. I am ten years old but I know more about this Band than you know about anything in your pathetic lives.

~I still remember burning the CD for the presentation (this was 2005). I was sitting in front of my CD player, using a pen and paper to write down the track list, and I would test myself to see how long I needed to listen to each song before I knew what it was. I was already doing the "Can you guess this Beatles song in one second" challenge in 2005. I'm so annoying!!!!!!~
