in one of my classes the students were working on a worksheet that had a question like this:

(in Japanese) translate this sentence: I have many CDs. (in English) I have ______  _______  _______ CDs.

one of the students goes “Sensei, can we say ‘many many many CDs’??” and i was like “HAHA we say that sometimes, but it’s not very formal” but then i literally couldn’t think of any other alternative way to say it in three words lmfao........

then a few minutes later the same student is like “Sensei, what about this?” and she’d written “a lot of CDs” and i was like holy fuck this ten-year-old Japanese kid is better at English than me. blew my goddamn mind
