The Corinthian | Boyd Holbrook The Sandman 1.07 -The Doll's House
i just want to rewatch gladiator just to study Commodus
he is terrifying but his character is so well done and so well acted that I think it’s intriguing and horrifying at once
my guy needs some sort of diagnosis on what the hell is wrong with him
cause like his whole thing is he has only ever been loved by one person: his sister
it was conditional
His father loved someone else as his son instead
and his sister loved that man too
he saw him as the one thing keeping him from being loved after his fathers death so he turns that man into a gladiator
so he clings on with all his might to the last thread of love he sees anywhere and it’s in his sister. And his feelings get so messed up because he doesn’t trust anyone else and doesn’t feel love given to him from anyone else
and he actually develops feelings for his sister because he feels like she’s the only one that chooses him and loves him in any capacity
then he learns that he is still not the first choice and she chooses someone else over him, the gladiator he exiled , she made the right choice (obviously) but psychologically that man is in shambles
he never experiences unconditional love and is never chosen first in his life and towards the end of the movie he seems like everything absolutely everything is lost and he turns all of the love he has into hate. Because he never felt it fully in return. And before the duel, stabs the gladiator. They both die in the duel but the people go to the body of the gladiator
because not even in death will he be chosen first, loved first
it’s unnerving
his portrayal terrifies me
and it’s acted so well
if you’re still doing requests, can you draw din with top surgery scars? love yr style btw 🥺💓
hi nonnie thank you for ur request!! here is the din u requested 😌
here's the thing,, in the show, i'm actually a bit of a simp for chilton -- he truly comes around
but in fic? he is *literally* the Worst human alive. like genuinely terrifying levels of control & stupidity. he's not even real & /im/ out here worried he's gonna have me put away indefinitely for mental instability
Y’all’ve heard of uncanny valley now get ready for uncanny/unsettling countryside aka whatever the fuck is happening in bass pro shops
I’m sitting outside in short-sleeves in February and this is WEIRD and global warming is TERRIFYING but I’m still going to enjoy the silver lining of a nice day for as long as we’re still alive on this planet
ok aro chill
I find the boondocks’ legacy to be so fascinating. It’s simultaneously so beloved and yet woefully misunderstood
