"if it's floral, then perhaps." sophie nodded. she wasn't one to wear it daily, but for events like these they would use some. "i hope it's not too much."
"there you are," sophie pulled her sister into a hug as soon as they found her in the crowd. they were just happy to see that she was here and seemed to be having fun at the very least. it was a nice excuse to break away from more of the crowd, pulling martha off to talk. "are you here with anyone?"

"jesper!" sophie dried their hands on their apron, dropping the bundle of flowers back onto the counter as they moved around through the crowd at the sight of their friend. "i have no idea how to thank you--" she said, already moving to throw their arms around him. sophie wasn't entirely overly affectionate, but considering the help jesper had offered, with little asked for in return, this was the least she could do. "howl's home, things are.. well not entirely normal considering the circumstances, but they're home, and that's normal enough for now."

"you do realize this is textbook scenario for how people get taken by the fae?" sophie looked at their friend, completely bewildered by the idea of following a strange trail of flowers into the woods. and sure, perhaps those textbooks were storybooks she read to her son, and sophie had once wandered into what they once believed was a cannibal wizard's home... but still. "xiao lanhua we cannot follow that trail, come on."
"i'm happy to repair that if you need the help?" sophie said, seeing the frayed edges to her cloak, knowing that it probably wasn't something the other was looking to get fixed out of the blue, but if they could help they would. "it's only going to get colder, you might as well as a cloak that won't fall apart on you."
