"well, i can't say the building is my favorite style, but the garden is beautiful up here." sophie said, having never really enjoyed the way this city did modern things, but it was saved by the overflowing garden, making the trek over here all the more worth it. "how did you even find this place?"

sophie jumped back a little as they nearly ran into the other, pulling morgan back a bit so he wasn't going to knock into them either. "i am so sorry, you startled me." they said, having not expected someone to be waiting around the corner. "are you alright?"

"if it's floral, then perhaps." sophie nodded. she wasn't one to wear it daily, but for events like these they would use some. "i hope it's not too much."

"oh come on, i can promise you this is not the worst that we've been through." sophie knew her sister in law was struggling with the whole 'magic is real' situation, and sure, yes, sophie probably shouldn't have brought it up, but it didn't seem to be something that would cause this much trouble. "what's causing all this?"

"well, they smell incredible for starters." sophie smiled over at him as they grabbed one of the muffins off the plate, taking a bite before continuing. "these are really good, gu zi, really. i don't know why you were even worried about it! where did you get recipe for them, because i might steal it."

"there you are," sophie pulled her sister into a hug as soon as they found her in the crowd. they were just happy to see that she was here and seemed to be having fun at the very least. it was a nice excuse to break away from more of the crowd, pulling martha off to talk. "are you here with anyone?"

"jesper!" sophie dried their hands on their apron, dropping the bundle of flowers back onto the counter as they moved around through the crowd at the sight of their friend. "i have no idea how to thank you--" she said, already moving to throw their arms around him. sophie wasn't entirely overly affectionate, but considering the help jesper had offered, with little asked for in return, this was the least she could do. "howl's home, things are.. well not entirely normal considering the circumstances, but they're home, and that's normal enough for now."
