While I do like the idea of Wilds animal form/spirit being a wolf or fox more so fox because it fits with the theme of Time Twilight Wild while detailing how Wild isn’t a descendent/ direct successor of Twilight but having the familial relationship and the mystery and slighness of a fox is more in tune with wilds fighting style but that whole other can of worms a phoenix is just much for fitting for Wild as a character.
First is the obvious: Wild dying and coming back to life, burning one’s self to fly higher, rebirth after burning/ dying very very much is representative of Wild as a character. In eastern mythology/ religions specifically Chinese, the phoenix is related towards balance and moral integrity. In which loses all your memories would and made Wild have to really think about what his morals would be with out the direct influence of the society he grew up in. And when pared with a dragon it symbolizes equilibrium.
Note there is a bigger discussion to be had about Wild and Flora’s relationship from pre Botw to post totk and how they’ve been thematic foils of each other since they’ve been children.
Further more the modern context for the phoenix is one survival and personal growth something that has been integral to all four games ( yes even AoI bc the existence of Clink as a “stand in” for link does give us more insight on his character)
Wild as a character is such a complex character especially after totk because of everything that has happened that specific characteristics/ details get washed out or hidden, but the concept of rising from the ashes and his stubbornness is something is persistent though out his whole life.

I love being an American exchange student in Germany while the World Cup is going on.
When our a bought a Deutschland jersey specifically for this game. I done even give a Fock about soccer but 👆my host family does so I’ll be watching and rueting for them
‘Sky and legend this’ ‘wars and wild that’
Give me Wild and Legend bonding
Give legend and wild talking about how both of their families is directly connected to the knights of hyrule
Give me legend talking to wild about his lineage, how the knights in his time may of once been great but now cowardly and worthless to the kingdom. How they locked their own princess up, how easily they were possessed. Let legend tell wild about his family tree and how his uncle was a knight and how he died at the beginning of ALttP!
Give me Wild talking to legend about how he doesn’t remember very much of his time as knight but knows that he once was. And from Zelda he knows that his dad was knight, and that he didn’t have much of a choice to be a knight. Prodigy or not!
Let them bond over the fact both of them were children when they first got the master sword.
Please!!! This is such an underrated duo. So much potential with the two of them
Coming from basically a dysfunctional family and then going on an exchange trip and staying w a functional family is jarring to say the least.
My exchange partner and her dad were ‘arguing’ over whose English was better. Using me as the example of ‘good’ English because I’m a naive speaker.
This hasn’t happened to me in a way that hasn’t been humiliating or degrading.
