#soberparty weeeee . . . . I just went to a bar, spent no money, drank nothing, and had an awesome talking to people. You don't need to be drunk to have fun. You don't have to get drunk to feel alright. I have been there. It is an expensive habit. A lot of people do not know, that my father got a DUI while I was in Costa Rica doing my yoga teacher training. It was quite the interesting synchronicity as I was embarking on this deep journey of self-discovery, the world as I knew it at my home was being shifted dramatically. I have had a long history of abusing alcohol and being blackout drunk. There have been times that I've woke up in jail and there have been times that I was completely surprised to wake up in my bed, realizing that I do not remember driving home at all. There have been times in my life that I've been so ashamed and so worried about how people would judge me that I felt compelled to hide that part of my history. I am making this post to thank anybody that shows up for themselves to make their lives better. That takes the initiative to get out of bed even when it fucking hurts. No one is going to change your life but you. If you want your life to change you have to change it. You have to get yourself out of bed, keep working through the pain, and and dive deep into yourself. You Are Not Alone. I admire you and I honor your strength. I am inspired by your vulnerability. I asked everybody to be authentic and genuine in their presence. Realize what a precious gift it is to be alive at all.
