So... I'm not entirely sure why, but the episode Bailey-whoops from Sofia the First has been on my mind recently.
And well... I know this may be stating the obvious, but I'm guessing that even if everything had gone according to Slickwell's plan, things wouldn’t have turned out well for him in the end. Given what a jerk he was to the Enchancian servants, and the fact he seemed to have a low opinion of them in general, I don’t give Roland a year before deciding that, to paraphrase him from the actual episode, Slickwell's services were no longer needed.
Also, I'm not sure how likely that is, or even how much sense it makes, but I'm thinking that even though Baileywick wasn’t present, Roland was going to at the very least include him in the initial toast he was going to make if Slickwell hadn’t wasted all the gooseberry cider and sent the ship's steering wheel overboard.
