summary: after finally ending your relationship with theo nott, you finally go to the one person who always saw you. the boy who loved you in silence and waited patiently to finally have you.
warnings: mentions of a toxic relationship, breakup, a little angst but with a happy ending
note: for the lovely @tojisstar! hope you like it :)
writing this was so fun, even if it took me literal months to finish it, and before you read, i do want to say one thing: mattheo isn't a savior here, he's a safe space for the reader. if you've ever stayed too long with someone who didn't see your worth, i hope this feels like a bit of hope. you deserve the kind of love that waits, listens, and never makes you feel like too much.
let it be soft. let it be safe. <3
there's a low fire simmering in the fireplace when you enter the slytherin common room.
it's almost curfew, so the room is rid of any other students, leaving you alone in your own wallowing.
you take a moment too long to notice the person standing off to the side, in the dark of the shadow next to the window. he's holding a pack of cigarettes, like he's seriously contemplating smoking them here.
it's mattheo.
"hi," you mutter, as he steps closer and sends a glance over your form. as if to check for any injuries. "i broke up with him."
he doesn't say a word. he sets down the pack of cigarettes on the fireplace, slow and careful, like he's not in a rush at all. like he’s been waiting for this moment since the day you sold your soul to his best friend.
theo.
the boy who kisses you like it's a favor.
the boy who laughs with your shared group of friends while you're already waiting for him.
the boy who never asks what you need, because he already decided you don't.
mattheo has watched all of it.
the year long relationship of hell, in his eyes. and it hurt, being close to you, while knowing he saw something different in you than you in him.
you have always regretted that you couldn't tell him the same, he already told you through so many things.
the way mattheo is the one to cheer you up after theo acts like an asshole, the way he is the one to always safe a seat at any table your friends sit at. the way he knows you. really knows you.
but tonight it's different. tonight you are free.
"you sure?"
he doesn't look conviced. how often have you told him that you would finally leave theo? that you would get out of the prison he has created for you?
and then you didn't.
"i am," you nod repeatedly. "i don't want anything to do with him ever again, seriously."
"good," says mattheo.
"you're angry with me," you glance to the side, looking at the dying fire.
"i'm not," he shakes his head and tries to catch your gaze. "i'm tired."
of waiting, he doesn't say.
of watching you break down after every fight, every malicious comment from theo.
of pretending he's just your friend, when he's so much more already.
you step closer, still a bit of shame and guilt pulling at your features, but you don't let it overwhelm you. "i didn't mean—"
"you did," he interrupts, knowing exactly what you're trying to say, "you chose him, but it's alright."
you swallow, trying to bite back the tears at the hurt expression on mattheo's face. somehow it bothers you far more than seeing theo sad ever did. "i—i thought he was safe."
"and me?" mattheo dares you to reply. "what am i?"
you look up at him, your eyes filling with tears. he's yours, in every way of the word and you hate yourself for ignoring it this long. for making him feel like a second choice, a rebound.
he's so much more than that.
you notice it. every little thing.
the way he waits for you to speak, not interrupting you like theo always does. the way he doesn't push you any further than you signal to be alright for you. the way he always hold space for you, even if you fill it with someone else.
"you're so much more than that," you say softly. "but i was afraid. and i was stupid. i didn't think about what i had in you, because i was so scared to even go in that direction."
the words flicker between you like sparks.
mattheo blinks at you, surprised at the sudden honesty, before he outstretches his hand and let's it fall to your arm slowly.
the touch feels warm and like everything you have been hopelessly reaching for in the relationship with theo. it's almost scary that mattheo already gives you so much, without really doing anything.
"are you scared now?" he mutters, as both your eyes follow the movement of his hand up and down your arm.
"no," you breath, stepping closer.
"okay," mattheo follows your lead, minimizing the space between you even more. "is this alright?"
"yeah." your voice is steady, sure. no hint of regret or the thought of something, of someone, else clouding your mind.
there's just him.
"i want you to be sure about this," he says, more serious now, and you feel his breath fan over cheek. he's so close, you can make out each of the small little freckles on his nose. even the ones that are barely visbile.
you love every single one.
"because, you're finally awake. and you're standing right here. and i swear to god, if you mean it..if you really mean it this time—”
"i do" you interrupt.
mattheo smiles. the soft boyish smile you only get to see on very rare occasions. he's mattheo.
your mattheo.
and with him it feels like you are yourself again too.
"i love you," you say and his eyes light up. "i'm sorry that i didn't say it sooner. you deserve to hear it. you are the best thing i ever had and i just didn't want to lose you."
"you're not losing me," mattheo replies softly. "i love you. nothing will change that. it makes no difference if you kiss me now, or even go back to him. my love is yours. it's yours to take, yours to keep. i can't do anything about that."
"mattheo," you cry, the words sending a warm feeling through your body. it feels so good to finally allow yourself to feel him. to experience the love you had been begging for so long.
he pulls you into his arms. his touch is soft, familiar, and not greedy or harsh like theo's, although you never want to compare mattheo with him ever again.
after a few seconds you pull back to look at him.
you're crying, but mattheo musters a smile and you can't help but laugh under tears. this is new. it's different, but good.
you laugh, until you forget what was so funny, but you share the moment with each other, finding comfort in the presence. standing in the dimly lit common room, with all the time in the world and enough love to last a lifetime.
why rush?
"can i kiss you?" mattheo finally breaks the silence.
"yes," you nod, like you're drowning and his question is the offer of a lifeline. "please."
he laughs softly, before his hand snakes to your neck, pulling you forward to meet his lips.
the kiss is warm and soft and everything and more you have imagined all this time. it feels like running over sand in the summer, the warm air in your hair, or rolling through grass while it soft and warm rain drops onto your skin.
mattheo is summer sun. he is autumn and winter and spring. he's everything bottled up and poured into his lips and you feel like you could suddenly float.
this is what life is about, you think, as he deepens the kiss and pulls you impossibly closer.
you're alone in the common room and maybe even alone in the world entirely.
nothing else matters.
your mind slips back to days in childhood, spend running through streets together, laughing until it hurts, knowing only each other.
visiting the park near your houses, the muggle one, you had to sneak out to, because you weren't allowed to go there.
there, where you used to sit on children's swings.
imagining about the future, about life at hogwarts, life outside of the dark manors you had been improsined in all your lifes.

In 1962, Matt meets the girl of his dreams at a smoky Boston jazz bar. One slow dance turns into forever, and years later, they’re still twirling barefoot in the kitchen— proof that first love can last a lifetime.

The saxophone hummed low under the buzz of conversation and clinking glasses. Golden light glowed through amber sconces on the walls, painting everything with that warm, dreamy haze unique to a Thursday night in 1962. The jazz bar was tucked behind a bookstore on Tremont Street— secret enough to feel special, yet still pulsing with life.
And that’s where he saw her.
You. In a pale lavender dress that caught the light like moonbeams on silk. Hair curled softly at the ends, lips stained a gentle berry red, one hand resting on the bar while the other held a tiny clutch, too delicate for the likes of cigarette smoke and whiskey chatter.
Matt tugged on the cuff of his navy suit jacket, suddenly self-conscious. He wasn’t even supposed to be there. Nick had dragged him along after rehearsal, muttering something about “expanding your taste in music and women.” But the moment Matt saw you— laughing softly with the bartender, your eyes dancing with something wistful and faraway— he knew the night had changed.
You turned just as he was gathering the courage to speak, your eyes meeting his across the haze and hush of trumpets. The song shifted— something slower now, a waltz wrapped in brass. And somehow, you were already smiling.
“Are you going to just stare at me all night, or ask me to dance?” you asked sweetly, like you weren’t completely unraveling him with every syllable.
Matt blinked, then laughed— that quiet, heart-soft laugh he always saved for moments that truly surprised him.
“I was working on it,” he said, offering a hand. “Matthew. But you can call me Matt.”
Your fingers curled around his, light as the lace trim on your sleeves. “Nice to meet you, Matt. I’m (Y/N).”
That night, you danced until your heels hurt and his tie loosened. You talked about everything— the movies you both loved, your shared dislike of olives, the way Boston could feel like a whole galaxy when the streetlamps hit the fog just right. Every new detail felt like a thread tying you closer.
He walked you home under a navy sky, his jacket over your shoulders, one hand brushing yours every few steps like he didn’t want to let go yet.
Before you slipped inside your apartment building, you turned and whispered, “I think I’m going to fall in love with you.”
Matt’s breath caught— but he didn’t laugh. He didn’t look away.
He stepped closer, brushing a stray curl behind your ear. “Then I guess I better catch up.”
Present Day, 1969
Your wedding photo still sits on the mantle— him in a black tux, you in that same moonlight-laced smile.
Matt still calls you his “jazz bar girl” when he brings home flowers after work. He still twirls you in the kitchen when the record player scratches out Ella Fitzgerald. And every once in a while, when the lights are low and the world feels soft, he kisses your fingers like it’s the first time and murmurs:
“I told you I’d catch up.”
And you— still in love, still glowing— always smile and say, “You never had to. I waited.”
i love this so muchhh, short and sweet fic 🥺 hope yall like it

Finally, it was autumn!
You've waited for this the whole year.
You just love seeing the leavers turn yellow and orange while the weather cools down. You loved wrapping yourself around a big warm blanket with hot cocoa in your hand, watching Gilmore girls in front of a warm fireplace while it was raining outside. The whole autumn aesthetic was so comforting.
You've built your dream wardrobe throughout the summer for the chilly days. Warm sweaters, dark jeans, cute sweatpants, fluffy socks, leg warmers, uggs.. you've also found your dream jacket from a secondhand shop. The abercrombie & fitch jacket! It's navy, and it has many cute pockets and fur around the hood. It was the perfect jacket!
11.30 am.
You were just reading for your exams on the couch. The warm fireplace in front of you. You were all snuggled up in the couch wearing your pyjamas with a pair of fluffy brown socks that had pumpkins on them. You've pulled your white fluffy blanket almost to your ears as you read something about science. Very tiring.
After some time, you decided that that's enough for today. You thought that maybe you should go for a cup of coffee or a walk just so you could get some fresh air.
You swinged the blanket off your body and got up from the couch. The cold air in your apartment hitting you immediately. You were in your tiny pyjama shorts and a tank top. They were not really doing much to keep your body warm. You didn't really warm your house that much, just as much as needed to keep the house from getting eny damage to the structures. You mostly just warmed your house with the power of the fireplace, but that was exactly what you wanted to do. You loved to just sit by the fireplace and warm up. You also slept a lot better in cold.
You decided to go to the coffee shop and read your favourite book there while drinking your favourite caramel iced coffee with whipped cream on top.
12.30 pm.
Now you were walking to the coffee shop. You had the Abercrombie & fitch jacket on and dark green sweater under it. You had dark blue true religion jeans on, and your new ugg lowmels in the colour sand. You were feeling so amazing.
You watched how the leaves danced with the wind. Some of them letting go of the branch and falling to the ground peacefully, making a beautiful carpet on the concrete with the other leaves. The leaves were glossy from the raindrops that had dropped onto them. It was so beautiful.
When you stepped inside the coffee shop, a warm smell of coffee and vanilla hit you. Your face started to warm up instantly. You took a deep breath, letting the warm and soft air fill your lungs.
You loved your local cafe so much. It was cute, small, and well decorated. The decoration was so welcoming, warm, and cosy that you could've stayed there forever.
It was held by the sweetest family. They had two girls, Kaytlyn and Kayla. They were thirteen years old twins that were sometimes helping their parents at the cafe. Their mom and dad, Elisabeth, and Joey were always so nice and talkative asking how you've been. They also gave sometimes discounts or a free cup of coffee.
You sometimes ordered a warm cinnamon roll with the iced coffee, and you felt like today was the day. You made your order and talked with Elisabeth about how life has been. She wished you the best of luck for your exams.
You sat down into the corner, putting you coffee and cinnamon roll on the table. You pulled your book from the purse and opened it, starting to read it immediately. You took a sip of the iced coffee, letting the delicious taste of it fill your mouth before swallowing it down your throat. You also took a bite of the sweet and very soft just baked cinnamon bun. It was warm, very soft, and it had your favourite cream cheese frosting on it.
Then you heard the door open. The bells on the door ringed as a guy you've never seen stepped in.
It was very rare to see new people in this small town of yours. Here, everyone knew each other and new people moved in very rarely.
You took a good glance at him. He was wearing light blue baggy jeans with timberlands and a red sweater. His hair was beautifully on a middle part. He looked around the cafe and thats when your eyes met.
You saw the beautiful blue eyes showing under the strards of the brown hair on his face. He gave you a warm smile and walked to the counter to order something.
After ordering he started walking towards you with a cup of coffee and a croissant on his hand. You kept your eyes on him as he walked and stopped in front of you.
"Hey, I'm Matthew, but you can call me Matt." He said, giving you a cute little wave. "Hey, I'm y/n," you said, giving him a warm smile.
"Can I join?" he asked politely. You smiled at his kind behaviour. "Of course! Have a seat."
He sat in front of you.
"So whats you reading?" He asked, taking a sip of his coffee that you could tell was just raw coffee with a little milk in it. You looked at him. "It's named All the lights we cannot see." It follows the interwoven stories of a blind French girl and a German orphan during WW2.
"That sounds interesting." He said and gave you a warm smile. "So you into history?"
"Yes, I am. My father is actually a history teacher, and he always talks about history with me." You said. "My mom, on the other hand, is a writer, so I always get good book recommendations from her. I also read and rate her books. They're really good. How about your parents?"
"Oh yeah. My parents work at a school"
"Great. Guess we have something in common."
You took another sip of your coffee and then dug your teeth to the cinnamon roll. After swallowing everything down, you asked. "So what are you doing in a small town like this?" He looked into your eyes, giving you a smile. "Just visiting our grandma. But I've been planning to move here. This is pretty close to the college I'm gonna start at in a couple of weeks." "What college are you planning to go to?" You asked with a curious look. He smiled at your curiosity. "Y know ****** college?" Your eyes widened. "No way I go to that collage. It's an amazing place." You smiled. "So why did you decide to move colleges?"
"Well. The college I was in was in the middle of a city with a bad environment. Also, the college looked very grey and boring. Just being there made me feel so depressed. This new college is rounded with nature and hopefully nice people." You rested your hand on the table, leaning in. "Trust me, you're gonna love this collage." He leaned back in his chair. "Hopefully"
"You know you're really pretty," said his eyes shining with admire. You turned your gaze towards him. "Y think?" He gave you a warming smile. "Yes, gorgeous. I know." You cheeks flushed in a deep red colour. "Thank you so much" you smiled. "Did I tell you that you're really handsome?" you said. "Hmm.. I don't think you did, " he said voice soft as the cinnamon bun you had in your hand. He was smiling at you, his eyes filled with awe. "Well, you caught my eye the second you walked in." You confirmed.
His eyes were still locked onto yours. You felt how his gaze shot shivers down your spine. Your whole body started to heaten up, and the space started to feel smaller and air thicker. "So would y like to go on a walk or something?" You asked, finally breaking the silence between you two. "Sure. I'm down." He answered instantly. You ate your cinnamon bun and drank your coffee. Then you placed your book back into your back, and you two headed outside, thanking Elisabeth & the family on the way out.
1:50 pm
You two decided to go to the park for a walk. "So where do you live?" He asked. "I live really close by. Near to a cute little shop, in the corner of this town. I have a cute little apartment."
"That sounds so nice. I've been looking for apartments like that. They just always need renovation or are way too expensive." He sighed. You took a hold of his hand, and it made shivers run down his spine. "You'll find a one. I promise," you said and squeezed his hand. He just smiled at you. "Hopefully."
"And this might sound a little too soon, but you can always come to my place visit." He looked at you. "Don't worry, I will." He said and gave you a wink. You giggled. "So, have you ever been in a relationship?" You asked. "Nope, I've never been in a relationship with enybody and I'm also a virgin. You?" You squeezed his hand again "I've never had enyone either and I'm also still a virgin. I just dont understand the nowadays hookup culture." He looked at me and smiled "Me neither. I'm glad that someone gets me." I smiled at him back.
"I would really love to hand out longer, but I have to go to my place and bake a pumpkin pie for my friends party that she's hosting tonight." He smiled. "It's okay. What does pumpkin pie taste like?" You widened your eyes and looked up at him, trying to find if he was just joking. "You've never had a pumpkin pie?" you asked, confused. "Nope, I've never had a chance to try."
You laid your head on his shoulder and wrapped your arm around him. He froze for a second before wrapping his arm around you.
"Well, what if we go to my place and bake a pumpkin pie. We can bake two so we have one for us and one for the party." You said your fingers playing with his sleeve. He looked at you, his eyes shimmering. You saw the excitement they were holding. "That sounds amazing. Let's do it. But just for you to know, I ain't excellent baker." You laughed and tapped his shoulder. "I ain't either, but I know enough. We'll be great!" He just smiled at you, laughing softly.
2:30 pm
The door of your apartment creaked open. You two stepped inside the smell of vanilla and pumpkin spice, hitting you both immediately. "I like to warm my apartment with the power of a fireplace it gives a nice and cosy vibe, which also saves me a lot of money, so I hope you don't freeze in here." You said and placed your jacket on the hanger. "No worries. I love it." He said and smiled "Do you want me warm the fireplace if you take out all the ingredients for the pie?" He suggested and placed his shoes next to yours on the shoe rack. You gave him a quick wink with a smile "Sure!"
The fireplace was on and it was starting to turn the cold air from the apartment into a warm, cozy, and welcoming air. You and Matt were standing in the kitchen with all the ingredients on the counter in front of you. You took a deep breath. "So I guess it's time to start. Y ready?" He looked at you and gave you a smirk. "Why don't we light up some candles first. Y got eny?" You smirked at him back. "So you wanna go all in.. huh? Be romantic and stuff." You took a small step towards him. He let out a small chuckle, his eyes sinking into yours as he took a step closer to you, his chest almost touching yours. His eyes darkened just a little but enough for you to notice. "Mmm.. yeah, that too, but I thought they would be nice for the aesthetic," he said, his voice low. The lowness of his voice made your stomach flip. The air between you two started to feel thicker, and the space felt too tiny. He looked at you with his eyes full of awe, but you saw the darkness seeking though.
And just when you were about to fall apart you collected yourself. You tapped him on his shoulder and walked past him with a sweet chuckle. After a couple of steps, you turned back and smirked at his surprised expression of you ending your little moment. "Pack it up Matthew we got pies to cook." You smiled and walked away from the kitchen to get the candles. You chose two orange pumpkin spice scented and one vanilla scented candle. You placed them on the counter next to each other lighting them on fire one at a time.
You showed Matt the ingredients, and you two started mixing them for the pies. The smell of the pumpkin spice and vanilla candles filling the already pretty warm air. After some time, the ingredients were mixed, and you had the already bought crust and filling. Then you just placed all of them on the pie plates and shoved the pies into the owen.
"We made it, Matty." You said happily and went for a hug. You wrapped your hands around him, burying your face into his shoulder. You took a deep breath, smelling his warm vanilla cologne with a little musky undertone. He hugged you back, wrapping his arms around you, giving you a warm and comfortable hug. "Should we watch some movie or serie?" You suggested. He pulled back just to see your face. He gave you one of his warm and soft smiles and nodded. "Of course, let's get all cosy."
You smiled and took his hand, leading him to the sofa. You playfully smirked at him and shoved him gently into the cushions. Your eyes locked onto his. Then you saw it again. The darkness in his eyes, but this time it was different, it was like there was even more than that, hunger, need, and something you couldn't really name. You stepped closer to him looking down at him.
"Come here, baby." He whispered in a low seductive voice. You bit your lip and climbed onto his lap, your legs on his sides. "Hmmm.. What's y calling me baby for?" You teased your voice low. Your heart pounded like crazy when you looked into those dark and hungry eyes of his. He gently placed his both hands onto your waist, pulling you closer. "Can I?" He asked voice low and hoarse. Your lips were only inches apart, and you felt his heavy breath against them. "Oh yes, please." You whispered, placing your hands onto his chest, sliding them down slowly. The act made his breath hitch and grip from your waist tighten.
You started slowly rocking your hips against his thighs. His eyes darkened as he placed his hands more firmly on your waist. His eyes.. oh fuck. Those eyes were filled with need, hunger but not lust. It felt like you would get an orgasm just by looking at his eyes. He tilted his head back and let out a low groan. "Oh fuck.. baby y have to stop moving like that." He said tone low and dark but kind. "Moving like what?" You questioned innocent look in your eyes. "You know exactly what your doing to me," he whispered into your ear with a low tone.
You smirked and leaned even closer to him. "Oh come here, Matt," you whispered, and before he could've said otherwise, your lips were on his. The kiss was sloppy, rough, raw, and needy. Your hands were all over him on his chest, hair, neck, back, and arms, whilst you were still rocking your hips against him. Your tongues were dancing in a rhythm that made both of your spines shiver out of pleasure. Then you felt it. "Matt, is that?" "Yes," he said, his tone dangerously low. You looked at him, your eyes hungry "sweeett" you whispered into his ear and let out the tiniest chuckle. And just when you reached down to his belt, he grabbed you softly by your wrists. "Baby, I don't wanna ruin this moment, but I want your first time to be special. We don't need to rush anything. okay?" He said with a warm tone. His eyes have started to lose the darkness, and now there were glimmers of warmness in them. You saw how he looked at you, his eyes filled with awe.
The embarrassment hitted you. "Oh.. I- I'm so sorry.. I didn't mean to - I'm not like this.. I don't know what I-." Before you could've finished your sentence, he cupped your cheeks and pressed a gentle kiss on your forehead. "No no no no. There is no need to apologise, sweetheart. I just think girl as beautiful kind and amazing as you should have the best and most unforgettable first time. We have no need to rush enything. I'm not lustful." Your heart heated up instantly after hearing those words. You looked at him deep into his eyes your eyes big glossy and filled with awe. He pulled you back against his chest into a warm hug. He kissed your temple and whispered into your ear. "You're so beautiful baby." You just smiled. His arms gently around you and his warm body against yours warming every inch of you. You looked up to his eyes. The glimmers in them were full of warmness that sent warm waves through your whole body.
You watched gilmore girls together for a while. You were still cuddled up on Matts lap, his other hand gently around you and other playing with your hair.
Alarm goes on.
"Yess. The pies are finally ready!" you said your voice cheerful.
4:15 pm
Finally, the freshly baked pies were on the table. "Soo? Time for a taste test.?" He asked. He was clearly hungry. You chucked and patted him on the shoulder. "Yeah. I'll get the plates." You took the plates and spoons and placed them on the counter. Then you cut slices for both of you and placed them on the plates, giving him the other one and a spoon. "Okey. Y ready?" You asked and looked at him, raising your left eyebrow. "I was born ready." He said, smiling. And took a spoonful of the slice. You looked at him, waiting for his opinion about the pie.
"Oh, this is so good, y/n. Delicious!" He said, mumbling, taking another full spoonful of the pie. "Well, I'm glad you like it." You smiled.
"Enyways, I'm so sorry, but I got to get ready for the party. My friend is gonna come and pick me up in 20 minutes. I was wondering if you'd like to join?"
He placed his spoon on the plate and looked at you with his warm gaze. "Thank you so much for asking, but I'm not a party type of guy. I get really overwhelmed at places like that." You gently grabbed his hand and held it between your hands. "That's alright."
You took a little breath and continued. "Okay, this might sound weird, but would you like to stay overnight? I really hate being alone. I'm gonna be at the party for only 2 - 3 hours only so you could probably at that time go grab some clothes for you, take a shover, watch some TV, and you can also eat whatever you find." You asked nervously while carving lines on the pie with your spoon. "Also, you can sleep at the quest room if you want," you added. He placed his plate on the counter and pulled you into a hug. "No need to ask twice. Of course I'll stay here. I'm just gonna go and grab some of my stuff." He said and gave you a kiss on your forehead. "But I ain't sleeping in the guest room," he said and gave a smirk. You just smirked back. "Sounds good. I'll go get dressed." You said and disappeared in your room.
20 minutes later
You walked out of your bedroom your black glossy heels clacking against the wooden floor. Your had on your long black bodycon dress that was hugging your curves softly but enough to embrace them. You had your pearl earrings and necklace on that you've got from your grandmother. Your outfit was very chic and classy.
You saw Matts eyes brighten up when he saw you. He was sitting on the couch watching Harry Potter & philosopher's stone. "Wow, you - you look amazing" he said his eyes scanning your whole body. "I didn't know the party was this fancy." You giggled "well, I just love to dress up."
He got off the couch and walked up to you. Your chests almost touching. "I see, you tryna hit on enyone?" He teased. You looked up at him, your face in a serious expression. "I would never dress up for some random dude." You said sharply but not in a mean way. He smiled "What about me?" He asked placing his arm on your shoulder and starting to rub circles with his thumb. "Well you aren't just some dude, right?" You said giving him a smirk.
"Oh come here." He said and pulled you into a soft and delicate kiss. The smoothness of the kiss gave you shivers as you felt his hand sliding down your back stopping just above your ass.
Doorbell rang.
"Oh, I gotta go! See you in a couple of hours, you said and started walking towards the door."
7:00 pm
The apartment door clicks and opens. The sound of your heels as you step in. Matt sits on the couch slice of the pie on his lap. "You're back!" He said and smiled at you.
He walked up to you and pulled you into a warm hug. "You missed me yet?" He asked his voice slightly teasing. You nodded against his chest and mumbled "mmmm- m" He chucked "I missed you too pretty girl. You wanna go straight to shower and change? We can watch this Harry Potter together when youre all done." You smiled and squeezed your hands around him, "yess. I'll be back in 15 minutes." You tapped his shoulder. "Would you microwave a piece of that pie." "Of course." "Thanks babe." Then you started walking towards the bedroom the clicks of your heels echoing as you reached the door closing it behind you.
15 minutes later
You showed up from your room in your sweatpants and hoodie your hair tied in a messy bun. Matt has already showered and changed his clothes while you were partying. He was wearing his blue plaid pyjama pants with a white t shirt. His hair was messy but perfect. You sat next to him on the couch and he gave you the warm slice of the pie and wrapped his arm around you. You placed your head on his chest the warm smell of his cologne filling your lungs.
You both watched the movie happily cuddled up. The feeling of his warm body next to yours made your heart beat so fast that you felt like even the neighbours could hear it.
When the end credits started to roll, you both slowly got up from the couch and went to put the dishes into the dishwasher. After that, you went to brush your teeth. When you walked out of the bathroom, he lifted you up so that you were facing him. You wrapped your legs around him and giggled. "Matt, baby, what are you doing?" He didn't say anything. You just giggled.
Then he walked into your bedroom and placed you gently on your bed climbing on top of you. The heat of his body on top of yours sent shivers through your spine. He pulled your hoodie effortlessly off you, leaving you only in your bra. He scanned your body with his eyes, almost like trying to remember everything. Then he started leaving hungry and sloppy kisses all over your neck all the way to your breasts. Your head tilted back, and your breathing got heavier. You let out a whimper as he bitted playfully your skin just above your collarbone. "Matt- Matt.." You whispered your voice trembling. "What is it, baby?" He asked. "...Nothing," you whispered, voice trembling and your chest rising and falling.
He looked at you, eyes glossy and full of awe. He gently cupped your chin and placed his lips onto yours. His soft lips against yours. The kiss was gentle, warm and soft.
Then he laid down besides you and wrapped his hands around you pulling you into his warm touch. You were still getting shivers everytime you felt his warm skin against yours. You placed your head on his chest and fell asleep. He stayed up for a little while admiring your beauty and thinking how lucky he has gotten today. He found the kindest sweetest and prettiest girl. It felt like a dream.
Is this going to be the love of your life? Is this going to be the story you'll tell your future kids when they ask, "How did mommy meet dad?"
Nothing was decided yet now it's just you and Matt. Maybe the time will tell.
Authors note: Hey lovess!! This is my first Matthew fanfic!! I really liked the idea of this fanfic, but I don't know if I shared it the right way. The idea of the writer wanting to have sex right when they met is not good.. but yeah please ignore that. I'm still new to these fanfic things, so I'm slowly learning. I also have written mostly fluff bc to be honest, I'm scared and so amateur of writing smut :) help! Sorry for not posting for a long time. I'm just gonna say that I post really randomly. I have lots of mental stuggles, so they also will affect my writing. I love you all, please like & reblog. xx
Love Lele xx

CW: Fluff, extreme fluff and a bit of angst with Comfort <3, Mentions of Matt losing hearing and how scary that is, Matt has a panic attack
Read more below!! :3
(Your Name} knew what Matt dealt with at night as Daredevil, It was him, and (Your Name) never really judged Matt on what he did. Until one night Matt came back, Bruised Bloody and beaten half to death. Matt looked rougher than usual, He looked so scared for a time in his vigilante life, which was usually rare, But something about it this time… Matt looked so different, he looked terrified. Matthew looked different. (Your Name) took their time to look at Matt’s injuries, too really look at their lover’s wounds. (Your Name) had taken Matt’s chin between their index finger and thumb, lifting his face towards their gaze. Matt’s nose looked bruised and was bleeding, There was a cut just above his right eyebrow. Matt’s breathing was unsteady and panicky.
“Matt, Baby.” (Your Name) spoke softly, waiting for Matt to follow the sound of their voice. Matt didn’t respond, not until (Your Name) guided his face towards them. Matt snapped his fingers as more panic had set in, the ringing hadn’t stopped quite yet. It was only getting louder at least for now it was. Matt’s chest was only getting tighter as he tried to take breaths.
“Matt.” (Your Name)’s voice seemed like it was saying his name under water in his right ear. He had this feeling before, but this time it was back and it felt completely different this time. Now that he had someone to lose, someone he wanted to protect. And he couldn’t since his ear was—
“MATTHEW!” (Your Name) shouted, It was enough to catch Matt’s attention.
“..What?” Matt turned his head to (Your Name)’s voice, although it was still a bit muffled.
“You were having a panic attack, Darling..” (Your Name) sighed softly, They had a frown on their face as they sighed again.
“(Your Name), I- I can’t hear..i can’t hear you..” Matt said, his voice shaking for the first time in his life. He was terrified of losing his hearing, not only for his vigilante work— But for his lover. The fear of losing his hearing and not being able to what his lover ever again scared him deeply.
“Matthew, My love,” (Your Name) spoke into his good ear.
“What is it?” Matt swallowed as(Your Name) pulled Matt to their chest, The comfort effect that they had on him was…working. He took in a shaky breath as he felt his hearing slowly come back as he focused on the sound of their heartbeat…He was..glad it..returned.
“Did that help..?” (Your Name)’s lips curled up into a gentle smile. Matt could only nod as he held onto the grandpa sweater he gave to (Your Name), He used to wear them back in collage. He was happy that (Your Name) was wearing something he used to wear, back when he was ambitious..
Summary: a sunrise drive, shared coffee, and quiet confessions — matt shows his love in the softest ways, and this morning, you feel it in every word, glance, and golden moment.
The soft hum of Matt’s car engine mixed with the quiet indie playlist drifting from the speakers as you watched the sunrise paint the sky in shades of pink and gold. It was barely 7 AM, but when Matt had texted asking if you wanted to go on a spontaneous drive to watch the sunrise, you couldn’t say no.
“I still can’t believe you got up this early willingly,” Matt chuckled, glancing over at you with that gentle smile that never failed to make your heart skip. His hair was slightly messy from sleep, and he looked cozy in his oversized hoodie.
“For you? I’d get up at 5 AM,” you replied, then immediately laughed. “Okay, that’s a lie. But 6:30 is definitely doable.”
Matt’s laugh was warm and genuine. “I appreciate the honesty. And the effort.” He reached over at a red light, briefly squeezing your hand. “I just… I don’t know, I woke up and thought about how we’re always so busy, and I wanted to do something just for us. No cameras, no schedule, just… this.”
Your chest filled with warmth at his words. Matt was always thoughtful like this - finding ways to create quiet moments together despite the chaos of his everyday life. You interlaced your fingers with his as he continued driving.
“Where are we going exactly?” you asked, watching the familiar streets give way to more scenic routes lined with trees.
“There’s this overlook I found a few weeks ago when I got lost trying to find that coffee shop Chris wanted to try,” he explained. “It has the perfect view of the valley, and I’ve been wanting to share it with you.”
The thoughtfulness of him remembering a random spot just to bring you there made your heart flutter. “You know, most people would just suggest getting breakfast together.”
“Are you complaining about my unconventional date ideas?” Matt asked with mock concern, though his eyes sparkled with amusement.
“Never,” you said firmly. “I love that your brain works differently than most people’s. It’s one of my favorite things about you.”
Matt’s cheeks tinged pink at the compliment, and he focused intently on the road for a moment. Even after months of dating, he still got adorably flustered when you were openly affectionate.
“Here we are,” he said softly, pulling into a small clearing with a perfect view of the valley below. The sun was higher now, casting everything in golden light.
You both got out of the car, and Matt immediately went to the trunk, pulling out a thermos and a soft blanket. “I may have planned this a little bit,” he admitted sheepishly.
“Matt…” you started, but he was already spreading the blanket on the hood of his car.
“I brought coffee,” he said, unscrewing the thermos cap. “Made it just how you like it.”
You could have melted right there. Instead, you helped him settle onto the blanket on the hood, accepting the warm cup he handed you. The coffee was perfect - the right amount of cream and just sweet enough.
“This is incredible,” you breathed, taking in the view. The valley stretched out below you, dotted with trees and houses that looked tiny from this height. Morning mist still clung to some of the lower areas, creating an almost magical atmosphere.
“Right?” Matt settled beside you, close enough that your shoulders touched. “I thought about it all week - bringing you here. I kept imagining how you’d react.”
You turned to look at him, struck by the soft contentment on his face. “What did you imagine?”
“That you’d get that look you get when you see something beautiful,” he said quietly, meeting your gaze. “The way your eyes light up and you get this little smile… like right now.”
Your heart did a complete somersault. “Matt…”
“I know I’m not always the best with words,” he continued, looking down at his coffee cup. “Not like Nick with his quick comebacks or Chris with his… Chris-ness. But I wanted you to know that these moments with you are my favorite part of everything. When it’s quiet like this and it’s just us.”
You set your coffee aside and reached for his hand. “You’re perfect with words when it matters,” you told him sincerely. “And you’re perfect at showing me how you feel. This morning, bringing me here… Matt, this is the most romantic thing anyone’s ever done for me.”
His eyes widened slightly. “Really?”
“Really.” You scooted closer to him on the blanket. “You pay attention to everything. You remember things I mention in passing, you create these beautiful moments, you make me feel so cared for. Don’t ever think you’re not good with words when you communicate love like this.”
Matt set his coffee down too, turning to face you fully. “I do love you,” he said softly, like he was still amazed by the fact. “So much it kind of scares me sometimes.”
“Good scared or bad scared?” you asked gently.
“Good scared,” he replied immediately. “Like… scared because I’ve never felt anything this important before. Scared because I want to do everything right with you.”
You reached up to cup his face gently, thumb brushing along his cheekbone. “You are doing everything right. This, us, right now - it’s perfect.”
Matt leaned into your touch, eyes fluttering closed for a moment before opening to meet yours again. “Can I kiss you?”
Instead of answering, you closed the distance between you, pressing your lips to his in a kiss that was soft and sweet and tasted like coffee and contentment. When you pulled apart, you stayed close, foreheads touching.
“I love you too,” you whispered. “More than I know how to put into words.”
Matt’s smile was radiant. “Good thing we have plenty of time to figure it out.”
You settled back against him, his arm wrapping around you as you both turned to watch the sun climb higher over the valley. The morning was warming up, birds were starting to sing, and you felt like you could stay in this moment forever.
“Thank you,” you murmured against his shoulder.
“For what?”
“For getting lost trying to find a coffee shop. For waking up early. For thinking of me when you saw something beautiful.” You tilted your head to look at him. “For being you.”
Matt pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “Thank you for getting up at 6:30 AM for me.”
there are just some thoughts and ideas i've been having all week and some might even have little snippets that could be shared.
noah x normal f!reader: he's the lead singer of a newly popular metalcore band, she has no idea who he is. he falls fast and hard and their whirlwind romance spirals into elopement. what makes her different from other girls? he has no idea, all he knew was that from the moment he met her he was fucked. so much tooth rotting fluff which descends into angst once the fandom find out about reader.
soft!noah: all of these are courtesy of @collisionofyourkissmakesitsohard. noah being the most attentive and supportive boyfriend you could ever ask for, from checking that you have taken your meds, to playing your favorite video game for you to watch when you're in need of comfort and even indulging in your characters dramas, to post mating you food and your favorite coffee order when he's away on tour. whether at home or away, he's always thinking of you and doing little things to make you feel better and your days feel easier. subsequently this leads into soft!matt, after noah helps set him and your friend who's had the most obvious crush for years, up.
baby daddy!folio x older f!reader (3-5 years): it was only meant to be one night. folio was back home in maryland before his next big tour and persistent enough in his flirting that you soon relented because maybe it was the drink or maybe he was actually charming? you broke your rule about not going with a younger guy and unfortunately for you the condom broke too. 9 months later you have a beautiful baby girl. you did consider telling folio but you didn't want him to feel obligated or baby trapped by a woman who was just a one night stand. when folio returns from tour almost another year on, he hears about you having a baby. it takes a while to get to him but he doesn't consider anything about it until he does the math. the boy is quick and a gentleman, coming to see you to apologize. you explain you never wanted anything from him and you're happy with your little family. It's just you and your babygirl but you make it work. you don't expect him to be involved but he wants to be and you'd seen him with his nieces on occasion to know he was brilliant with kids. you can't deny that you don't find his tenacity adorable, especially when he shows up on your door step with a drum kit for a 1 year old. honestly so much fluff.
baby daddy!noah x f!reader: the complete contrast to baby daddy folio. reader and noah break up, it's messy and heartbreaking on both sides, to the extent they drop all contact. a couple of months later reader discovers she's pregnant. she ultimately decides to keep the baby but not tell noah, they both moved on with their lives and she deserves to have this fresh start, even if it means keeping the child of the man she still loves. skip to four years down the line where you've never heard from noah again but you do share a mutual friend, one who isn't afraid to spill your secret to matt. it's matt who urges the mutual friend to look into whether or not the baby is actually noah's. it wouldn't be the first time someone's attempted such a claim and honesty he's looking out for his friend, if this baby is his doesn't noah deserve to know? the mutual friend attempts this either with a swab for a paternity test or finding the birth certificate, both methods are fucked and it isn't hard for reader to figure out what's going on when she catches the mutual friend. she hasn't seen or spoke to noah in years and the first time she does is when she storms into his place to yell at him about this, unaware he has no idea what's going on and that matt was the one behind everything. it all comes out, the pregnancy, the fact reader kept it a secret, but when noah asks if he can meet his son, she refuses. all of angst around this one, particularly when it comes to noah's persistence in wanting to meet his son, who is a literal mini version of him.
Heidi my beloved, I am at a picnic and there are so many kids I ended up dissasociating and started daydreaming haha
How would you imagine Matt and the reader having a picnic? How would the reader dress and how would Matt feel? Would he relax and they would talk, or what would they do? I have only soft and aesthetic thoughts about him, the sun and all that. I would really like to hear your thoughts!!@
Hiiiii darling!! Gosh a picnic sounds lovely right now 🥰
I like to believe that Matt loves picnics with his whole heart. He likes the sound of the birds making nests in the trees, feeling the breeze through his hair, the sun on his skin. He’d go in a tee and jeans, and lay down the entire time. You’d go with him every time, if you weren’t the one who had the idea to begin with. You would rest your back against a tree and have Matt lay his head across your thighs while you play with his hair. It’s relaxed and sweet. You’d either match Matt’s attire and go in a pair of denim overalls and t-shirt or you’d wear one of his favourite sun dresses with the raglan sleeves or the slit in the skirt. You’d talk about anything and everything in content, hushed voices. He’ll tell you about the little boy in the playground near you confessing his undying love to his crush and he’ll grin at your coos and awes. You’ll pick florets out of the grass and place them in his hair and tell him how pretty and happy he looks like that. 🥺
