*AN* As I wrote this I could see this being a prequel to the 'Playtime' series. Just sayin ;)
The usual chipper tone in yunhos voice disappeared instantly after he picked up the phone to hear you sniffling. "Are you crying?" He asked his voice now laced with concern. "Maybe" you manage to get out in a broken voice. "Babe what's the matter?" Your boyfriend asks. You can hear the fade of voices and the shuffle of his movements through the phone. "Today is horrible Yuyu" you sniffle again. "First I spilt my tea on my shirt as soon as I walked into the building, then as soon as I got to my office I tripped on the chair and my report went all over the floor, I went to set up for our meeting tomorrow and broke the new smart board. Then the icing on the cake, the printer was out of ink and when I went to change it it leaked and now not only am I covered in tea but also printer ink!"
You take a breath trying to calm yourself after your rant. Trying desperately to not burst into tears again. "Oh my love Im sorry" Yunho says though the phone "I wish I was able to give you a hug right now" "Well.." you sniffle again "Maybe you can, my boss is sending me home for the rest of the day, I was hoping you could come pick me up" You hear Yunho groan, "Aish" he says "Baby any other day I one thusand percent would but today I'm presenting at the merger meeting" You palm your forehead, in your disaster of a day you completly forgot that his company was taking over another and he was running everything. It was a huge day for him. "Oh Yuyu Im so sorry I completely forgot, I'm so sorry to bother you" you apologize, tears welling in your eyes again because you feel so bad. "I'll call myself a uber home"
"What? No babe I-" Just then you hear another voice on the other end of the line, its muffled but you can make out the words 'ready for you' 'okay' Yunho replies before turning his attention back to you. "Babe I have to go, Im sorry but I have a idea. I'll get you a ride go wait outside it will be there in 10 minutes, I love you" he rushes out before he has to hang up. You just look at your phone, screen flashing with 'Call Ended' you feel a pang of guilt at forgetting about his big day and bothering him but your also relaved he is gettig you a ride home. You gather your things, trying to compose yourself as you make your way to the lobby, where it feels like all eyes are on you as you make it to the doors. The cool air outside does little to soothe your frazzled nerves as you step outside, pressing your back against the cool building trying to steady your self.
Your about to text Yunho to ask about the details of the car service when a sleek black car pulls up infront of you. Slowly the passanger window rolls down, revealing a familiar face. "I heard someone was having a bad day" Mingi's deep voice calls out. Suddenly some of the tention in your back disapiers. If there was anyone other than Yunho who knew you inside and out and you were comfortable with it was his best friend Mingi. The three of you had become very close friends before you and Yunho started dating, but his friendship with Mingi ran back to childhood. You quickly climb into the passanger seat of the car. "Thank you so much for picking me up" you smile at him.
Mingi's eyes meet yours with a warm, comforting smile. "Anytime, you know that." "I know, still I feel bad your usuing your lunch to pick me up, right?" you say as you buckle your seatbelt. "Nope" Mingi says as he puts the car into drive, merging back onto the street traffic. "Yunho sent me home for the day. I have nothing to do with this merger so I am clearly more helpful in other places" You let out a small sigh of relief, feeling a bit more at ease. "That's good to hear. I was worried I was interrupting something important."
Mingi chuckles softly, his eyes focused on the road ahead. "Nah, don't worry about it. Yunho knows how to take care of things. He's probably already knee-deep in meetings and paperwork by now. But he wanted to make sure you were okay, and that's what matters." You hum in agreement as you watch the road ahead of you. Its not long before you relize that you have missed the turn off for your apartment. "Uh Min you were supposed to turn back there." you say, glancing around.
"Nope" he says "You haven't eaten lunch yet right" You notice that you are now pulling into the parking lot of panda express. "Not yet, I was just gonna make a sandwich at home" He pulls the car into the drive through, only one car ahead of you "That won't do after this morning" is all he says as the other car pulls away and pulls to the speaker. You watch in amusement as Mingi orders your favorite dish without even consulting you. "You know, it's a bit creepy how well you know my order," you tease, raising an eyebrow. Mingi grins, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Hey, I'm just looking out for you. Besides, I've seen you eat that so many times, I could probably order it in my sleep."
As the car pulls up to the window, Mingi pays for the food and then hands you the bag with the boxes in it. "Now I take you home" he says pulling back onto the street. The ride there is quick due to the fact that its mid day, he swiftly pulls into the parking lot of your and Yunhos complex and finds a spot right up front. His long legs carry him around the car to your side in seconds where he helps you out, and grabs all of your things. You silently make the walk up to your door, opening it for the two of you to enter. Mingi makes himself right at home. Placing your things on the table before making his way to the kitchen. "Okay heres whats gonna happen" he calls over his shoulder as he opens your fridge to get out two sodas.
"You going to go get changed out of those clothes" he continues as he looks for his favorite pair of chopsticks in your utensils draw. "Then me and you are going to sit right there" He points to the couch infront of the tv "stuff our faces with this food and watch all 3 seasons of Squid Games, got it" Hes looking at you now, hands on his hips. You cant help the little laugh/sob that leaves you. "Okay" you say as you dab the tears in your eyes. "Hey, hey why are you crying? Is it because you know yor gonna have to watch Sae-Byeok die again?" You laugh again "No. Its just.. I question all the time how I got so lucky to have Yunho in my life and really I'm just as lucky to have you as a best friend to"
Mingis eyes soften, "Were just as lucky to have you to. Your the best as far as friends come. Now go get changed you look like you got in a fight with a octopus" You roll your eyes as you smile and walk back to your bedroom. It doesnt take long for you to change into one of yunhos shirts and a pair of pajams pants, slipping your feet into your cute bunny slippers before trudging back out to the living room. You find Mingi on the couch already, where he has made a comfortable spot for the two of you with pillows and blankets. Your food laid our on the coffee table before you and the opening scene of S1 of Squid Games paused.
You settle onto the couch, feeling the soft cushions envelop you as you snuggle into the cozy nest Mingi has created. The warm, comforting scent of the food wafts up from the coffee table, and you can't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over you. He hands you a pair of chopsticks. "Here you go, my friend. Let's dig in and get this Squid Game marathon started." You take the chopsticks, feeling a bubble of laughter rise in your throat. "You know, I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually looking forward to watching this again. Especially with you." He grins, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "That's the spirit! And who knows, maybe this time you won't cry quite as much when Sae-Byeok bites it." You playfully swat at him with a pillow. "Hey, it's not my fault she's so relatable! And her story is just so heart-wrenching."
As the opening credits roll, you both settle back into the cushions, the world outside fading away. The comfort of Mingi's presence, the warmth of the food, and the familiar story unfolding on the screen create a perfect bubble of peace and contentment. The two of you watch intently like its the first time all over again, stuffing your faces with your food. By the 4th episode, you feel the events of the day catching up with you and its not long before youve wrapped yourself in blankets and are using the side of Mingis large frame as a pillow.
By the middle of the 5th episode, you start to doze off. By the end the sound of keys in the door rouses you from your nap. Looking over you see Yunho coming down the hall to where you are curled up on the couch. You blink away the remnants of sleep, your vision slowly focusing on Yunho's familiar face. He looks tired but happy, his eyes softening as he takes in the scene before him, you curled up against Mingi, both of you surrounded by blankets and the remnants of your meal.
"Hey there, sleepyhead," Yunho says softly, a gentle smile playing on his lips. He walks over and bends down over the back of the couch, his hand reaching out to brush a stray hair from your forehead before placing a kiss to your skin. "Hi baby" you say on a sigh. Mingi stirs beside you, his voice groggy with sleep. "Hey, Yuo. How was the presentation?" Yunho chuckles, "It went great. Papers signed, hands shook. We start the merger first thing monday morning." You sit up, suddenly wide awake, and throw your arms around Yunho's neck. "I'm so sorry I forgot about your big day. I feel terrible, but I'm so happy everything went well!"
Yunho pulls back, his hands cupping your face. "Shh, it's okay. I understand you had a rough morning. That's why I had Mingi come get you." He looks over at Mingi now "Thank you by the way" Mingi gives him a smile "Don't even mention it, I would drop anything for you guys, your like family to me" he says. Yunho gives him a big smile back before looking down at you. He kisses your forehead once "Now, how about we order some pizza and finish watching the rest of the series? I think we all deserve a little more relaxation." Mingi nods in agreement as on que his stomach rumbling loudly. "I second that motion. Pizza and Squid Game sounds like the perfect way to end the day."
Yunho sits on your other side as he orders the pizza, sandwiching you between the two of them as Mingi hits play. You smile, feeling content and at peace. With Yunho and Mingi by your side, you know that no matter what challenges come your way, you'll always have a safe haven of love and support. And for now, that's all you need.
- Mingi loves physical touch, if he could cuddle you, hold your hand, kiss you, anything at anytime he will.
- He’d love to compliment you and can be confident in giving compliments but when the tables are turned and you compliment him he becomes a blushing giggling mess.
- He can be really sensitive at times, especially if his mental health isn’t doing so good, cuddles and support is all he’d need in these times, he knows everything will be okay as long as you’re around.
- This gentle giant’s kisses are the sweetest and softest thing you’ll ever experience, the first time he kissed you was definitely a surprise purely from how gentle and careful he was with the way he handled you.
- He’s the type to do small gestures to make you feel loved no matter what you’re doing or where you are, something as simple as a cute message on a sticky note would be a regular thing with him.
- Surprisingly, helping you get something from a high place would make him feel all fluffy, the small sense of being needed would cause an uncontrollable smile to cover his face.
- He’s extra soft when it comes to anything scary, horror films, bugs, anything. He’d get so pouty and would use you as a shield, expect to see him wrapped in a blanket with most of it covering his face and even hiding behind his sweater paws.
- Would 100% cling to a stuffed animal when watching a horror film (If you ever manaqge to convince him in the first place).
- I feel he’d also be the type that when he gets into bed he pulls the covers all the way up so just his eyes are peeping out and I know for a fact he’d look so cute and soft like this, all sleepy and eye smiles.
- I see him being a big fan of animal hats or animal onsies, ESPECIALLY if they’re oversized, the sleeves cover his hands creating sweater paw.
- He’d also emphasize the sweater paws by standing with his arms like a T-Rex letting the sleeves hang over, might even do a little flap just to be extra cute.
- ALL THE AEGYO 24/7 THE BOY DOESN’T EVEN TRY IT’S JUST NATURAL.
- Overall Mingi is so soft inside and out, there isn’t a moment when he’s not soft it’s just in his nautre, he’ll always be understanding and will always be a shoulder to cry on when needed, will do anything to make anyone smile.
I’m devastated! 😩 I know some stans hate thinking about idols dating (which is so so so stupid) however I’m just gonna say that if someone ISN’T dating Sannie rn I’m gonna get annoyed. He deserves to have someone tell him how gorgeous he is, how he has a beautiful soul, how he is their one and only. He deserves to love and to be able to give himself completely to another person and if someone doesn’t give that to him right now I will not hold my wrath back lemme tell you. That being said, if he wants ME to do all those things, I won’t say no 🤫 I’m kidding! I just love him so much! He deserves the world and nothing less.
