Manuscript: What is a book you want to read but are intimidated by?

I’m reading one of them right now, The Count of Monte Cristo. Lump any of Alexander Dumas’s other books in that category along with all of Tolstoy.

Not that being married has helped me fit in much in this town. It's so much about kids here.

Fair enough that. I literally do not have a single co-worker in my program who does not have children, for instance, and it does seem the main thing people over thirty bond over.

Las Vegas: Have you ever broken a heart?

Possibly. No one’s ever said so to me directly, but I don’t develop crushes often, and I know that a good number of people have had strong feelings for me that I didn’t reciprocate. I’ve certainly never done it intentionally, though.

Chicago: What do you ache for?

Oof… Redemption, intimacy, independance. Pretty straightforward. I want to be free of my own issues.

Cairo: Whats your favorite quote?

I found another good one, though it took some time: “When the devil fell he did not fall alone.”

B- birthplace: Victoria, Canada C- current time: 3pm D- drink you last had: Black coffee E- easiest person to talk to: @softkitten F- favourite song: It changes but Robyn’s Cry When You Get Older is my oft cited classic; I also love Read My Mind by The Killers G- grossest memory: The 4 litres of basic, stomach churning liquid I had to drink for my colonoscopy to diagnose me with Crohn’s disease. By the end of it I was crying it was so revolting. H- horror yes or no: I like my horror streaked with a bit of comedy like Sam Raimi’s stuff. I- in love? Sure am.  J- jealous of people? I don’t believe people who insist nothing makes them jealous. I am not given to much jealousy, but I feel it most frequently when I feel left out of something everyone else is included in.  K- killed someone? I don’t even like killing bugs, I am ~soft~. who are all these 16 yr old tumblr gangster murderers? L- love at first sight or walk past again? Love at first sight is actually bs. Infatuation and an active imagination is lovely but it’s not love. To really love someone, you have to know them. M- middle name: Karen for my grandmother Berit Karina (but Sheena Karina sounds loc). My grandmother was an incredibly kind and gentle person who nevertheless saved her brother’s from incarceration during the Nazi occupation of Norway by sacrificing herself to buy them time to get across the border to Sweden. I am immensely proud to share her name. N- number of siblings: One younger sister named Lauren who is turning 27. O- one wish: Love and safety for the people I love. P- person I last called: @softkitten called me last night. The last person I called was my mom last week. I only talk to her every couple weeks and that’s honestly enough. Q- question you’re always asked: No one on tumblr asks me the same questions (or any questions) and neither do my friends but at work people always ask me “How do you know that?” regarding some ridiculous factoid that I remember from spending too much time as a childfree woman on the internet soaking up needless bullshit. R- reason to smile: cats? S- song you last sang: I was humming the tune to Amber Mark’s Lose My Cool. T- time you woke up? 6:40am U- underwear colour: Red today I think. V- vacation: it won’t be very exciting this year, probably just going to Calgary in July. W- worst habit: Procrastination  X- x-rays: I haven’t had any in years thankfully. However I have other anxiety-inducing medical shit coming up soon so urgh? Z- zodiac sign: Pisces sun, Aries ascendant, Pisces moon.

Halloween, cranberry 💫

Halloween- What’s the best costume that you’ve ever had? Wolverine! Back in high school after making some very tragic hair choices, that made it easy for me to channel Hugh Jackman.

Cranberry- What do you think your younger self would think of the current you? Oh, this is probably the hardest question here... I think that 16-17 year old me would approve the current me becuase I achieved things that back then I never thought I would have or even deserve.
