Do yall remember Children of Morta?
It's a pixel roguelike that was super popular when pixel roguelikes were popular. I bought it because of my high susceptibility to peer pressure, but never got around to actually play it.
84 years later I decided to finally do it, and it's such a funny feeling. It IS a good game, it's stylish, fast-paced, well-written, with a cool mechanic of leveling up a whole family of characters so they all grow stronger together. But of my god does it feel like a game from a whole different time. It's almost sad to play it in a bittersweet way, because it isn't an old game, but the world was so different.
People were really into pixel art for example.
I also played demo of Solasta II. I loved how much they improved the visuals, acting and writing, while keeping it recognizable.
I enjoyed the first game and I'm excited to see what the second one is gonna be like. I don't have high hopes for the story (oh no, an evil purple woman with sexy voice creates armies of evil purple mobs to do evil things, oh noo), but I hope it will be a classic, comfy high fantasy adventure.
Also I'm praying crying begging they'll add tieflings right away and let me smooch the stone man.
