Can we talk about this clip for a moment?
THIS is the exchange that really made me feel for Emperor Gramis, and made me realize that underneath his regal facade lies a man torn between his children and filled with many regrets. When I first played this game upon its release 10 years ago, I was so caught up with the plot that I honestly didn’t catch the subtlety of this moment until many years later, but I can see (and hear) it clear as day now.
Emperor Gramis Gana Solidor is a broken man. He allowed ruling and ambition to get the best of him for many years, even sacrificing two sons for it at the expense of another son’s innocence, and now he bitterly regrets it. You can tell that he KNOWS he’s partially to blame for Vayne’s machinations; and now there’s almost nothing he can do, except protect the son he has left... Larsa.
