It’s rare to find a fic in the injustice universe and rarer still to find a fic so wonderful, so beautiful, so romantic, that I just want to read and reread and never stop. The gentle tenderness of their relationship revolves around touching & lack thereof (since Dick is Deadman) as they try to find peace after everything they’ve been through, and it makes me too soft to function every time.

2. How long have you been drawing?

i've drawn on and off all my life. drawing deliberately, i've been doing for 10 years now! getting a pen tablet changed my life and i started realizing how much i loved and wanted to create things

20. Do you like to draw in silence, or with music?

music 100%!! drawing + music = the perfect way to tune out, head empty only pretty colours and sounds 😌

For that ask game - what was *that scene* for Wing Beats in Reverse? (One of my fav fics!)

Ohhh, interesting one. So, I think I may have mentioned before that when I first started it, I intended Wing Beats to be a one-shot of Damian and Jason being brothers? But midway through writing the first chapter the ideas with Tim as Red Hood kidnapping Jason started forming and the whole thing spiralled out from there.

I’m not entirely sure now (5 years on) exactly what the first scene I imagined was. I want to say it was Jason’s initial experience of Damian’s apartment, poking at things and their first attempts at getting to know each other. Or possibly the scene where Damian consoles Jason after what happened with Felipe and Gloria. I can distinctly remembering turning that one over in my head a lot back then but then I also blasted that first 14k chapter out in a couple days, so it was a whole rush. Man, those were the days when I was able to do that. It still remains one of my favourite scenes I’ve ever written now XD

Yeesssss! I've been sitting on this one forever, the shame lol

It basically follows the plot of the novel: Dick, Jason, and Babs are the only survivors of the death of their entire foster family. They live as outcasts at Wayne Manor, removed from the town that gossips about them relentlessly, mostly about the rumored unnatural deaths of the Wayne household (rip Bruce, Talia, and Damian).

Selina Kyle, wanting to discover her now dead ex-lover's hidden hoard of family treasure, comes to Wayne Manor under the pretence of spending time with Dick, Jason, and Barbara. Their happy hermit life is suddenly threatened when Dick starts to question if he's enabling a terrible life for the younger Jason and if he should accept Selina's romantic advances. Jason starts to wonder if he needs to force the obvious cat burglar to go. After all, he's rid the house of others before...😬😬😬

I originally had the trio as Dick, Jay, and Alfred before realizing that Babs fits the role of the uncle who survives the poisoning so much better. But there's a scene in the original novel that gave me such Alfred vibes that I had to write it down, even if it didn't make the cut:

Alfred continued to neaten the sitting room as he said to Ms. Kyle, "Master Jason is dead."

Selina looked at the boy perched on the stuffed armchair, then back to the butler. "No, he's sitting right here."

"Is he? You've returned to the living, Master Jason? Good for you."

I tried to choose just one of Solo's works to spotlight, but I couldn't decide and ended up putting all of them onto my "need to read again" list. Solo's storytelling is EVERYTHING. It's evocative, humorous, profound, and it'll make you feel all the feelings. I do a little happy dance every time I get an email notification that she's uploaded another story because I know I'll love it even before I read it.

Oo Saturday and March for the time-themed fic asks?

Hi solo! Ooh I had to really think about the first one haha xD

Saturday — what gets you excited whilst writing?

I'm gonna go with not being interrupted lol. But also! I get really excited when the story I'm writing takes a new turn plot wise or character-wise and I get to create on the fly. I mostly write as a means of surprising myself xD

March — do you listen to music whilst writing?

Actually I don't! I find it distracting or I just end up forgetting there's music even on haha. I'll listen to music to set a mood, or a song will come on that gives me an idea, but then I tune it all out and live in the story once I start plotting and writing. It's part of my hyperfocus. You??
