“I promise I’m not mad. I just wanna know who thought it would be a good idea to introduce G Wash to emojis. Specifically the eggplant emoji.”
—John Laurens in @fihli modern coffee shop au known as ‘Sons of Libertea’
Hamilton: You know what? Underneath it all, you're actually quite nice.
Burr: Repeat that disgusting slander again and you'll be hearing from my lawyers.

Just found my blog from middle/high school and while scrolling through it I knew I recognized your username and pfp from somewhere. The crazy double take I did when I clicked on your blog and saw sons of libertea in your pinned post!!! I lived and BREATHED that fic in 2016 omg. I would go back and read the Christmas chapter for years afterwards. I don't even know about any of the things you post about nowadays but I'm following anyway, you're part of my life sorry. I hope you're doing so well!!!
it's a dark and rainy night and i'm hanging out in a coffeeshop trying to get some writing done and feeling kind of meh. HOW did you know this is exactly what i needed to read?? how did you find your old blog at the exact right time??
2016 feels like a lifetime ago and simultaneously like it was yesterday. i adored writing sons of libertea and all the craziness that spawned from that fic (mocha shitstorm?? hell yeah), and it taught me some very important lessons about writing that i still carry with me today almost TEN YEARS later. in february sons of libertea will be TEN. i can't.
since then i got a history degree (i will forever and always be a revolutionary war bitch), a few different finance jobs that landed me my current gig as a senior accountant, and a continuing neverending love of telling stories. i'm still working on my novel (putting together a query packet currently and FREAKING OUT about it), and this spring i was dragged back into the marvel fandom where i'm hanging out now, writing tons and tons of fluffy found family fics <3
some bad stuff also happened to me in the past ten years, but i can confidently say that i'm doing all right. there's lows and highs. i am so happy to hear how much fun you had with sons of libertea (i still adore the christmas chapter too!! eliza forever), and am so glad you're here!!!
John Laurens: My name is John and I’m——
John Laurens: *has an intense stare off into the distance*
Hercules Mulligan:
Hercules Mulligan: *expasterated* Life isn’t anime John wake up and smell the taxes
Hercules: John, you need to do your taxes.
John Laurens: No way! I’m too cool for that!
Hercules:
Hercules, deadpan: John, for the last time this is not an anime.
Holy Mocha Shitstorm (yes, I genuinely have begun saying that), I just finished Son of Libertea!!! I cried. A lot. I don't know what to do with my life now 😂😅 I love it so incredibly much, it's an absolutely beautiful masterpiece. Thank you so goddamn much for bringing the gift of Sons of Libertea upon this earth
one BILLION heart emojis to you dear friend
it makes me so happy that almost ten years (!) later, people are still finding and reading soltea. i have so many good memories wrapped up in writing that fic, and i still reread the holiday chapter around this time of year. ILY <3
