The Whumpee and the Caretaker share a blood type, so whenever the Whumpee loses too much, the Caretaker gives them their blood.
What is strange to the Whumpee is how fast they heal after the transfusion. As in, unnaturally fast. Inhumanely fast. But they never question the Caretaker, mostly because they’re never awake when they’re given blood. They only show their gratitude any chance they get.
Then the Whumpee gets captured by the Whumper, and it all makes sense. The Caretaker doesn’t “share” a blood type with Whumpee. In fact, they don’t share any blood type.
The Caretaker has green blood, which contains extraterrestrial healing properties, hence why they always give it to the Whumpee.
The first two nights after the vision Thandiroq received from smoking Aisleen’s herbs, he was overwhelmed by all he had seen, felt and struggled to remember. Most of it was fleeting in his memory, except for the most important to him. Two nights of fighting to keep those three things in his mind, until finally he could stay awake no longer. He slept deeply and without interference, for what seemed like days, though in fact it was only a few hours. His dream, was not like any other dream he had before, it felt more like... a memory.
It was raining as Thandiroq entered his home in Auberdine, his brother Legalith and mother Sanaha thrown about the floor. Each with a number of stab wounds easily visible as he saw no light, no life in their eyes. His eyes scanned the room, seeing no signs of his father, that he knew would be there. A scream rang out and the hairs on the back of Thandiroq’s neck rized. “Ana...” He called out for his sister as he could hear a banging in the distance, growing louder and louder with every strike, until he saw him. Vindarael, banging on a closed door with one hand, the other clenching tightly to a very familiar dagger and his sister on the other side crying out for help, for his help. Thandiroq rushed his father and tackled him to the floor, as he had Vindarael pinned to the floor he yelled out. “Run Analith, get help!”, his eyes stared intensely at his father as he heard the door open, he turned to see his sister flee and a smile came to his face as he felt the blade enter his chest and pierce his heart. “Foolish boy, I will find her and I will have what I desire most.” Thandiroq continued to look at the door Analith ran out of, still smiling as a tear formed and ran down his cheek. “It doesn’t matter, for now she lives and has a chance.” The light in Thandiroq’s eyes faded as his body slumped to the floor.
A flash sent Thandiroq further into the dream, the memory of his life... only different. He was kneeling by the graves of his fallen family, his mother and brother. At his side knelt his sister, Analith, giving prayer to Elune as tears built in her eyes. Thandiroq hung his arm across her shoulders, bringing the young Kaldorei girl in for a hug. His free hand came up to press against his chest, against his heart, where the blade entered. He lowered his head as he silently repeated the prayer Analith was speaking, a single tear running down his cheek. When his sister finished he walked her back to the refugee camp that sat on the outskirts of Auberdine. It had been over 10 or so years since that dreadful day, the Cataclysm had came and destroyed their childhood home, but for them it was welcomed. It helped to drown out the memory, but Thandiroq needed more. He left his sister with those he trusted at the camp and returned to the gravesite to speak to his family once more, he felt like he always felt that he needed to apologize to them, for not being there when they needed him. To protect them, provide safety and keep his father from doing what he did, always he did this as always they replied. Somehow, he could hear them, ever since he was brought back, allowed to live once more. Thandiroq couldn’t speak to any other spirit, only his mother and brother, always they would forgive him, comfort him and tell him to live on, to protect those he loved. Thandiroq thanked them and began his trek back to his sister when he heard a sound, not far from his family's grave, where no one but Analith and himself knew were placed. He followed the sound, curiously, but wearily as well, until he happened upon her. Blair!
Another flash of light appeared and now Thandiroq was in a field, standing before Blair, only she was different than the warlock he knew. She was just as ferocious, charismatic and when not in combat, wild antic as he knew her to be. But gone was the magic, the fire, the color of her eyes. When first he knew Blair, her eyes were a red hue, then after he placed her hand into the moonwell at Darnassus, they turned a bright and shining silver, much like his own. Now, they shined of a different color, blue, as blue as a clear morning sky. As he looked into those blue orbs, he drew forth his weapons as she did her own. Blair was wielding a longsword and she beamed with energy and appeared to be bathed in light. Then she attacked with ferocity, quickly putting Thandiroq on the defensive, his heart raced and his eyes widened as he witnessed the ferocity, the preciseness, the grace and the predictable movement of her attacks. This was Blair, as a warrior not before seen, she was magnificent in her tact and advancement. Thandiroq was clearly outmatched in the one on one spar with her. He was shocked and amazed at what he was witnessing, but he was also thankful. He now had someone to stand beside him, to help him protect those that he loved and those that he barely knew. A companion in arms to ensure that others would not suffer the same fate as he had. Now he had a blade to match his shield.
The bright flash came again, now he stood in Darnassus, before a familiar face he had not seen in many years. Danyael, his uncle stood before him, holding something in his hands. “I had to have it reforged, I don’t think it would have fit otherwise.” His uncle chuckled lightly. Thandiroq eyed the item intensely, his mouth open in awe. Analith gasped as she stood beside him, “It’s... beautiful.” Danyael handed it to thandiroq, “As it should be, it belonged to your mother. As did this.” Danyael brought forth a magnificent look weapon and equally as beautiful shield. “She wore this armor, wielded this axe and shield, in defense of those she cared for wished to protect from harm.” Danyael slammed the axe head into the shield, where one would normally hear loud banging or ringing of metal on metal, Thandiroq heard a pleasing “ting”. “It’s enchanted, the axe will disarm and subdue any and all foes, it will only cut when it comes into contact with demons or any tainted by their corruption.” Danyael proved his claim by raising the weapon high and bringing it down onto his own arm. Thandiroq yelled as Analith cried out and turned away. Danyael looked at them both with a smile as he displayed his arm, uncut or harmed in any way. “See? Now for the shield, it will take any blow landed upon it and you will feel only the slightest of impact. As a mountain would feel the push of the wind. You will remain unmoved.” A giggle came from behind Thandiroq and he turned to see Blair approaching the trio. “Amazing, truly amazing. Rock, the immovable object. Perhaps we should test your new equipment against my own in a spar.” The woman spoke joyfully, hopingly. Thandiroq looked down to Blair with un arched eyebrow and smirked. “The immovable object...” Thandiroq patted Blair on the back with his hand, pushing her forward a step as he chuckled. “Against an unstoppable force. What a sight that would be.” Thandiroq’s eyes looked to the axe and shield once more, then to the armor piece he was now holding. “Imagine the look of horror upon the faces of those that stood before the combined power of both, when they come together to stand before them.”
Thandiroq awoke suddenly as a knocking came to the room door where Blair and he had been staying within Stormwind. He rolled out of bed and tried to clear his head. The dream, the memories of a life that could have been, but was so similar as well. Thandiroq opened the door to see Danyael standing there and somehow he was not surprised. “I hope whatever you had to do was worth putting off our meeting, your training.” Danyael spoke calmly, no sign of anger in his voice. “No matter, it will still happen, but by chance or blessing, the extra time has allowed the gift to be finished. Now you will be able to train properly and with the proper items.” Thandiroq eyed his uncle curiously, his eyebrow arching high as he watched Danyael produce an item from his cloak wrapped in a purple cloth. “It’s not as flashy as what you and your family currently carry about. But I assure you, it will prove invaluable.” Thandiroq reached out and took hold of the item, both eyes going wide, he knew what it was already, he did not need to open the cloth. “You’ve proven yourself time and time again it seems, you’re mother would be as proud of you as I am.” Thandiroq’s mouth was dry and his heart raced as he unfolded the wrapping. “She would be honored and happy to know that you carry on her legacy in protecting your new family.” Thandiroq’s eyes beamed as he looked upon the weapon in his hand, the same axe he looked upon just recently in his dream. “Now, if you would get dressed and follow me, I will show you the rest and we can begin your training.” Thandiroq looked on in awe at the weapon he held. “I... I am grateful, for everything. But there is something I need to do before I can accept this. Someone I must talk to, to make amends with.” Thandiroq took his eyes from the axe and handed it back to Danyael. “Only then and only if they accept my apology, will I be worthy enough.” Danyael accepted the returned gift and smiled wide. “Oh? Well then. Do give Aisleen my best.”
