I love in the early seasons how sam and dean switch their perceptions of john. when sam is so pissed at him and finds every occasion to bring up how john wronged them and dean pushes back defending him, but then suddenly john dies. and he's sam's dad again. but now dean resents him. and it could be boring but it's not. because they both mourn in such different ways, and in both cases it serves their character.

and it's like they can never hate him at the same time. hating the father is something you take turns for, you can't hate him both at once because somebody needs to love him still

SPEAKING of the honeymoon period being over the Ghost of Husbandos Past rears its ugly head in the form of chess with Cullen. I had to remind myself “I’m married” for a few seconds… and then I remembered his whole deal with lyrium. I’ve dealt with one addict my entire life, I don’t need another. I’m aware you can CURE his addiction, that still doesn’t make it better.

*sigh* I guess I have to do more personal quests then. I’m midway through Cassandra’s and got Iron Bull’s triggered. This liminal stage of boredom is what I get for trying to speedrun the Josephine romance IG.
