Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is not about the cure, the lie, the new ending or survival at all costs.
It's about preservation of one's humanity when great powers try to strip it from you, promising sweet rewards and saying that "they know better" or "they bring order".
So Mi is not chasing survival at all costs. She's after the preservation of her humanity. Otherwise she wouldn't beg V to kill her at the core. She doesn't want to die there, however, she wants to preserve that little humanity she has left after sacrificing most of it to save V, before she dies and not get completely stripped of it at the hands of Myers.
If V understands it and is after the same goal, they help her escape. Because only this way both V and So Mi preserve their humanities.
