i'm v interested in dawn's relationship with religion, if ur comfortable discussing it 👁👁

inspired by this muse post i believe !!

Dawn was born on S.kyloft and grew up following H.ylia . She wasn't die hard religious but she would go to church for holidays and pray in times of stress . Her family was much of the same , even having a little alter in their home where they would give small offerings for good luck ( think small cakes and flowers ) . Grace was said at every dinner - It was a constant in her life , giving her a source of comfort as well as teaching her morals which is what religion is supposed to do .

Meeting Lamatar didn't shake her relationship with religion , but when he turned her into a demon there was some complications .

She felt something akin to shame ? felt like her god couldn't love her anymore . that she wasn't allowed to love her either . more so when she learned about the ancient war with Ray , how the demons physically fought H.ylia alongside D.emise. And Rays open hate of the Goddess made her question them and their intent for all of the people they created . suppose she learned that gods aren't always good - that there is dark and light . there is a grey area .

for a while she avoided H.ylia . but it felt wrong for her to try to force it away . so she began to worship her in little ways - following a God doesn't have to be in a church or in hymns . but being thankful for the friends you have . the food you eat . living life .

i'm not very religious - hell i consider myself a satanist but i understand the value religion to some people . for dawn its very important , even when the feelings became a bit sour with becoming a demon herself .

Tiny headcanon - i believe H.ylia was the only goddess worshipped on s.kyloft ! When the humans finally came down they learned about The Golden Trio and caused the major religion to shift from H.ylia to them - causing people to kinda forget about H.ylia until 10,000 years before B.OTW where she was rediscovered and worshiped along side The Golden Trio . ( making up for N.intendo fucking added her on after 25 years - )

          at some point, he’ll learn his lesson about wandering too close to those damned portals  --  or at the very least, being a bit more cautious around them. until that day, however, he’ll step too close  &  get sucked in, spat out in some obsure land that bares familiarities to his home. what luck that it’s always so similar to hyrule . . . 

          . . . . .  & he has no horse. letting out a sigh as his head tilts back, staring up at the night sky as he walks  ( almost )  aimlessly. hopefully soon he’ll come across a place he can set up camp, avoiding the stables he’s seen  &  any others he’s come across. with the state the castle is in . . . too many questions would rise from the hylian symbol on his scarf.

Miri reminds me of a famous ama, or diver, named Tamatori-hime. She gave up her life diving to the bottom of the ocean to retrieve a precious jewel from the dragon king, Ryujin. Miri's soft heart and confidence in herself reminds me of this diver.

Eilian reminds me of Abe no Seimei- a sorcerer of divine magic who was one of the most powerful and well known in Japan's historical mythos. Seimei was dearly devoted to his craft and performed many miracles.

Miri and eilian are just so fucking good you guys. I've always said that Zelda lore is to be taken by the throat and by GOD has Jamie done that. I love them and their canon so, so much, I love the plots we've worked on, and I can't wait until we can put those gears in motion

i'm always keen wdym. and i DO have things to say, oh my god - i feel like i have to mention i was super intimidated when we first followed each other because the lore on your ocs....the banger designs that they have..... to mention just one thing, i looked at the triforce mark on miri's forehead for like, five whole minutes, the first time i saw her. and you've just been putting out even more amazing content since then ! the amount of detail and heart you put into both your art and writing never ceases to amaze me, i'd 100% trust you to write a game in which your scrunklies are the protagonists. that is to say, 12/10 follow decision, would do it again
