Why Dark Enerjak was the perfect rival for Silver?

3 - Who is "Dark Enerjak"?

Dark Enerjak is an alternate version of Knuckles in which he has been completely corrupted by the power of Enerjak's spirit. In the main Archie universe, Super Sonic was able to defeat Knuckles/Enerjak with the help of Locke (Knuckles' father), freeing Knuckles from the corruption, but Locke had to sacrifice himself in the process. However, in this alternate universe, Enerjak emerged victorious and devastated his world, leading the Dark Legion and draining the life force of all his enemies. In the end, Dark Enerjak only had his daughter, Lara-Su, and a weakened version of the Freedom Fighters to "play with".

2 - Meeting with Silver.

In the Archie universe before the reboot, Silver's future was still post-apocalyptic, and he was trained by Mammoth Mogul, a former villain who had fought Sonic. However, one day, a robotic version of Vector the Crocodile (also called "Prelate-V") appeared in Silver's universe and attacked him, but was defeated and had to flee back to his world. Silver ended up following Prelate-V and landed in the alternate universe of Dark Enerjak, which is how he met Lara-Su and the Freedom Fighters. But Dark Enerjak already had his eye on Silver and wanted to meet this "traveler" to fight him, steal his power, and have a worthy opponent.

1 - The clash between two forces.

Silver and Enerjak are two powerful characters in the Archie universe because they both possess a destructive capacity that most characters lack, and they prove it in this battle. Although Silver isn't very experienced with his powers yet, he has shown that he is quite capable of using them to destroy anything in his path, including islands. While Enerjak also has the ability to destroy islands and entire armies single-handedly, he has more experience with his powers and was therefore able to eliminate Super Sonic, Shadow, the Freedom Fighters, etc. However, when Enerjak used the life forces of several heroes to create Prelates and enrage Silver, Silver ended up using his powers to throw Enerjak into various obstacles and finished by throwing an island at the villain. Of course, this doesn't kill Enerjak, but after that, Silver realized that he can't let his hatred control him; instead, he used his powers to redirect Enerjak's energies against the villain, allowing Lara-Su to take advantage of this, and together they defeated Enerjak.

Extra - Why is it perfect?

I know I've been summarizing the events of the comic so far, but the reason the rivalry between the two is so great is because of the message the comic wanted to convey: Power Corrupts.
At the beginning of the arc, Mammoth Mogul and Edmund (an Echidna in Silver's future) warned Silver about using his powers in a radical and impulsive way, because he is still young and has much to learn about it. However, when Enerjak appeared, Silver began to succumb to his emotions, because Silver values life and the hope of a better future for everyone, but Enerjak uses the Prelates to mock Silver and the heroes who died. When Silver threw the island at Enerjak, he lost control and realized what his mentors wanted to tell him, because power can turn you into a monster and Enerjak is a reflection of that. Yes, Enerjak is an irredeemable villain, but he was once a hero, and unfortunately, he let power take over him to the point of killing everyone he loved. That's the main reason I find the rivalry between the two perfect; they are both similar in certain ways and are powerful beings, but one is a reflection of what the other could have been.
