Song Diary Day 117: "Skolldir Theme" by SonicPicnic
Note: This post was delayed a day due to inclement weather, and is being posted today.
Confession time! I actually own Awesomenauts and the soundtrack thanks to a HumbleBundle some time back, but I've never actually played the game. Shame on me, right? I did manage to listen to the soundtrack, though! And today's song is one of my favorites from the soundtrack, but just being a good song isn't necessarily enough to get included on my list.
I got my bike out of storage today. I knew it needed a little bit of work, but I took it for a test ride anyway. It felt good to ride again! About a mile into my trip, I was riding against a tough wind and started to debate whether cycling was fun or an instrument of leg torture. At the three mile mark, I turned around to ride with the wind. It was fun again, and I was ALL-CAPS SUPER PUMPED ABOUT IT. Then my front inner tube blew out, and I had to walk three miles back to my house... IN FLIP FLOPS.
But I still felt pretty good about life in general, even though my feet were sore (plus I found a pair of aviator sunglasses on the side of the road!). Then I thought, "You know what would be great? DOING SOME SQUATS RIGHT NOW." So I did some squats in front of the refrigerator and read the text of every magnet we've stuck on its surface. Then my brain thinks, "You know what's even better than squats? DOING SQUATS WHILE LISTENING TO THAT AMAZING SONG FROM AWESOMENAUTS!"
So I told my wife, "WIFE, I MUST LISTEN TO MANLY SOUNDS OF VIKING CHANTS AND ELECTRIC GUITARS WHILE EXERCISING MY LEGS AND TALKING WITH CAPITAL LETTERS."
And that is exactly what I did.
