And this was the fic I wrote for Yuletide! I had a lot of fun writing this for @sonni89, who I met AFTER starting to write this story and subsequently had to keep secret from her. :D
If you’re never read the book this story is based on: Know Not Why is by Hannah Johnson (who you might know better as dollsome). It’s a super charming coming-of-age novel with a lovely central gay romance and loads of humor. I read it earlier this year when dollsome put the ebook on sale, and it was one of my favorite books I read this year. Seriously, go read it now. Or check out dollsome’s masterpost for the book. i had the greatest weekend (well, saturday - monday) ever and i just wanted to document it...somewhere!! feel free to skip. this is mostly for me to remember & look back at. i learned how to do read mores and everything just for you because I CARE.
highlights from my favorite days in recent history:
first, and most obvious, INGRID MICHAELSON’S HOLIDAY HOP. i have cried pretty publicly about this already, both on twitter and instagram, but i’m just. so in love with her. she puts on such a great show. it was endearing, inappropriate, enchanting. so much!!!! her voice is unearthly and getting to see her live for the first time with such great people (maddie + sonni, ilu) was so nice! :’)
walking to see the christmas tree @ rockefeller w/maddie at night + christmas music blaring + all the people dancing around us in the street. it was such a Moment.
i mean, improv shows at ucb are always a good time.
the complete fucking sexual awakening of watching/discovering secret someones, jesus fucking christ. i don’t know how to explain any of this, but their set was unbelievable. they are.....electric on stage. fuck. and all the girls are so hot and have beautiful, gritty voices (and they harmonize better than anyone i have ever heard in my entire life) and they all play electric guitars and honestly, leave me alone. i’ve already bought and listened to their album in full and it hasn’t been 24 hours yet. i love them so much.
watching maddie watch (and enjoy!) her first ever parks and rec episode (the fight) was honestly a high point in LIFE.
but also getting to watch a bunch of one tree hill episodes together was an Experience because this dang show is the reason we became friends. brooke davis <3.
basically sunday was netflix in bed + pizza day.
the delirium that set after holiday hop. i have no idea what was going on, but maddie and i were so messy and hysterical all the way home. in walgreens, on the bus. everyone hated us. it was midnight and we were so obnoxious, but i loved it. (when was the last time i even laughed that much?)
maddie not knowing how to use a subway turnstile it is still the funniest thing in the world, omg.
so yes, a good weekend. currently right in the middle of post concert depression (also your favorite person leaving u depression)!!!! anyway, my instagram has been just as obnoxious, as i’m sure you all know if you follow me on twitter (eyes emoji). that’s all!!! if you read all of this, i have no idea why but i like you very much :)))

So I know Chris Pratt is in it, his name is Andy and he has a really grumpy girlfriend. There's also Amy Poehler and the whole show is really funny. And "Treat Yo Self", though I have no idea in what context this is happening :D
D: What was the first thing you ever contributed to a fandom?
I have contributed very little, but I used to make lots and lots of LiveJournal icons. The first semi-significant thing I made was a Ryan/Taylor fanmix. It's actually still here! What a throwback.
F: What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? What fandom was it?
Hmm... Gilmore Girls, maybe? For about 3 years? This is hard. There are shows I've been into for longer than that, but not at all active in fandom for. I guess Twilight lasted a long time too, but I can't pinpoint how long that time of my life lasted, lol.
R: A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships.
I always LOVE reading other people's answers to this kind of question, but I never have anything good! I've always been a conventional shipper. I don't ship it anymore and I didn't like how it was done on the show, but there was a time when I was SUPER excited about Tom/Ann on Parks and Rec. And I still prefer that over Chris/Ann.
Z: What's a ship that you want to ship publicly, but everyone on tumblr hates it so you keep your mouth shut about it?
Another question I love with no actual answer! I really don't think there is anything??? I'm gonna ponder.
