Ghoul Squad Movies: The Kong
The Kong
Cast
Ivan Bruel as Konan
The last of his kind, Konan is a Kong. This means he has two forms, his humanoid form and his gigantic ape form. His family was hunted down by the previous chieftain of Skull Island, but his son had great shame for his father’s actions. Konan hid in the woods, figuring a life of solitude was his destiny. Thus he was surprised to meet other humans outside of the villagers near his section of the island. He took a liking to the more softspoken duo of Angie and Jinu, and felt annoyed by the loudmouth Curtis. On hearing and seeing how scared the villagers are of him, Konan decided that staying with his new friends was much better than staying on Skull Island. It was horrible to get drugged by Curtis while in his humanoid form, but he knew that whatever happened, he would find Angie and Jinu again. Upon waking up in New York, he was angry and frightened when discovering he was restrained and being paraded around as a stage attraction. Growing out of rage and fear, he escaped, trying desperately not to harm anyone. He can’t calm down because the military gunfire and explosions are scaring the crap out of him. Eventually he finds Angie and Jinu and they make a diversion fast enough for him to escape. Konan was heavily wounded from the battle, but managed to swim to a secluded shore, where he ran into a beautiful phantom whose face was partly hidden by a mask. She was rather surprised to see that the giant handsome monkey was also a handsome humanoid figure. She asked him if he wanted to take solace with her and her friends, to which he agreed.
Candace Fletcher as Angie Donahue and Soo-Yeon Park as Jinu Dae
Angie and Jinu are a package deal. She was a theatre actor who was trying and failing to make it to the silver screen. Jinu is her fiance and playwright, also trying to make it as a screenwriter. They thought that their luck had finally turned around when movie director Curtis Denning said they were perfect for his next film. He said it would be filmed on a beautiful tropical island and that they’d be sure to make a killing. Turns out it was a great big lie. Skull Island was full of monstrous bugs and animals. On the bright side, they made a giant but gentle friend in Konan. After the whole fiasco in New York, they were delighted that he learned eventually how to write back (from the help of a certain phantom) and they continued conversing through letters. Angie became a character actor while Jinu wrote some horror films.
Evan Lawson as Curtis Denning and Alonzo Grotke as Captain Gustavo Emerson
Curtis Denning is a devious man, willing to con and cheat his way into getting money for his productions. He’s on the verge of getting canned from Hollywood when he discovers the whereabouts of Skull Island, and figures making a movie there will get him back on track. Stealing a bunch of cameras and equipment to use for the new movie, he takes the crew on a journey to the island, claiming he’s taking them to Singapore. He hired Gustavo Emerson to be the captain, a wise and weary traveller of the sea who told Denning it was dangerous to go to Skull Island. Ignoring the advice, they ended up crashing onto to the place during a storm. After some dangerous scrapes with the bugs and wild animals of the island, the crew managed to find shelter with the villagers. After discovering Konan, Curtis saw dollar signs. He drugged Konan, bringing him back to the city of New York as his new attraction. After Konan’s escape, Curtis was kicked out of the film industry, with jailtime likely to follow.
Finally here's Ivan's movie! As you can see, we based it off of the 2005 remake of King Kong! Make sure to thank Weeby for helping and we added some Myvan crumbs at the end. Reblog and reply with your thoughts! @booksrbetterthanpeople @msweebyness @nerdy-chocomallow
