Ah yes the SooHakYona trio, the tragic trio, or as I like to call them:

I know ill is probably rolling in his grave after seeing that Yona and Soowon are somewhat on good terms now, and that she as Hiryuu's reincarnation didn't kill him the way he wished for his nephew. And on top of that, Soowon turned out/ ended up being the sword of the prophecy, the very person who was destined from the beginning to protect Yona after he pushed her away from him,

And he'd probably roll even more in his grave if he saw Soowon and Hak getting along after the next chapter.

My roman empire is Soo won. He's my fav character ever and I will never shut up about him. Honestly I don't understand how the fandom hates him. Yes he killed king Il but it was a very much needed evil, he was driving the country to ruins (besides him killing his father because soowon's father was the one who started it). For all we know maybe if Soo won didn't do it, someone else would had come and started a rebellion (who won't be merciful towards yona and may have also killed her).

AND SOOHAKYONA????? The doomed friendship??? I can't. My fav chapters are the one where we see them as children or the one where we get a glimpse of the trust and the bond between them even after the betrayal. I can never shut up about that scene where soowon and hak save lilly with no communication needed like??? Ughhh

And I'm also a big fan of friends to enemies to lovers like if anyone knows smth that has this dynamic don't be shy (literally anything manga book manwha webtoon manhua show movie I consume all sorts of media)

I will be forever happy and grateful if I find soohakyona fics or soowon (I still remember one that tricked me because I thought the MC will end up with soowon since they were married in their past lives but instead she went with jaeha (don't get me wrong he's my baby BUT I NEED TO BE FED))

See, part of the reason why I want to go through and notate every single time someone denies Yona her agency?

Is because Hak and Soo-Won do it too.

Every time Soo-Won offers her freedoms (going exploring in the town, or the horses) she takes it. She breaks the rules her father puts in place and seeks what she can.

Why wouldn't she want to take knowledge as well?

But they never stop seeing her as a child to be protected.

I wonder if her kidnapping that time they took her into the city impacted them, made them afraid to ever expose her to anything as well.

After all, they were so clearly willing to not follow king Il before then

What if they had put a weapon in her hands when he wasn't looking? What if they told her things when he wasn't there to hear?

What if Soo-Won did have a chance to go back in time? The point Hak was trying to make is that you don't have to do it alone. Talk to us, tell HER, and we can help you without having to kill King Il. it’s insane how both yona & hak have been horribly betrayed by soowon who they though was their closest friend……but still, they believe in him. there is literally no reason for them to think so but even if they betrayed him, even if they can’t forgive him for what he did to them, they still believe that he’s not like his father and he’s doing the best for country………soowon doesn’t serve them. T.T I WANT SOOWON TO BE THERE IN ONE OF THE SPEECHES PLS, I WANNA SEE HIS REACTION. ITD BE SO GOOD.
