A fire lit up in your eyes as you crumpled your shirt up in the balls of your fists. It didn’t matter if you were about to tear the fabric at its seams. It was ruined anyway.
Your favorite fucking shirt—absolutely ruined before you.
Slowly, you raised your eyes from the laundry you were folding on the bed up to where Taehyun was casually laying down. One hand tucked comfortably behind his head while the other scrolled through his phone, completely unaware of your seething rage.
You let your boyfriend do one good thing to help you do your laundry. Just this once—and this is what you get.
“You alright baby?” taehyun finally looked over at you. Your sudden lack of movement catching his attention.
Unluckily for him, you were in no mood for his kindness. “How many times did i tell you not to wash any white clothes with the colors.”
Taehyun’s face visibly flushed, sinking into the bed a little as he put his phone away. He could now clearly see the rather pink stained fabric that was once a beautiful white button up shirt, one your donned quite often.
He sat up quickly in the bed, reaching for you until you clutched the shirt to your chest, stepping away from the bed. “Oh my god. I am so so so sorry. I didn’t even realize I washed it. I know how much you loved that shirt-“
“I don’t want to be in the same room as you right now,” you huffed in frustration, not caring how dramatic you sounded. You refused to look in your boyfriend’s direction, opting to toss the wrecked fabric into a nearby trash can.
The rest of the laundry had been long forgotten as you pushed the basket away. It was bed time you decided, despite wanting to walk away.
Taehyun’s eyes still searched for yours in the dark after you’d switched off the lights. He tried pleading with you once more as you made your way under the covers next to him. “I promise tomorrow we can go out and I’ll buy you a new shirt or anything you want.” No answer. He made note of how intentionallly far away from him you’d settled into the sheets. “You’re gonna stay mad at me all night aren’t you?”
“That’s the plan!” you smiled sarcastically, making yourself comfortable under the warm covers.
Taehyun shrugged his shoulders, picking his phone back up and continuing to mindlessly scroll. He knew better than to continue pushing any further when you got like this. He would allow the space to sulk for now and make it up to you at some point in the morning.
For a moment you were grateful for the newfound silence. You could be angry at taehyun in peace and try to remember where the hell you’d gotten that shirt from in the first place.
But that initial silence was soon beginning to make you restless. You tossed and turned from one side to the other, laying on your stomach, and eventually finding settlement on your back. Your body was desperately trying to get into a comfortable sleeping position. Arms crossed over your chest, you finally opened your eyes that you hadn’t realized were so tightly shut.
Begrudgingly, you turned your head to the side seeing Taehyun still quitely scrolling through his phone. It was impossible to stay mad at him for so long, especially right before bed. He just looked too pretty beneath the illumination of his phone screen.
“Well,” you spoke up against your will, feigning annoyance. “Are you gonna hold me or not?”
Taehyun broke out into a short fit of laughter as if he’d been waiting for you to say the words. He turned his phone off, gently setting it on the night stand. “You’re a handful aren’t you,” his eyes smiled at you. He joined you beneath the covers, shimmying down underneath them as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you against his warm skin.
Almost instantly you felt your eyes become ridden with sleep. “I’m sorry, Tae,” you mumbled against his chest, now embarrassed with how you reacted earlier over a stupid piece of clothing.
You rested your chin against his shoulder, craning your neck up to look up at him. “No, I’m sorry my love,” he said so softly you almost didn’t hear him.
You nearly melted against him feeling his baby soft lips pressing against yours. The warmth of his skin transferred to yours making you feel lighter. He leaned further gently into the kiss, his hand trailing up your body so carefully as though you were a made of glass.
His hand found a home in your hair—tucking loose strands behind your ear as his thumb stroked your cheek. His lips never left your lips once except to smile for a moment. You couldn’t help but pout when he eventually pulled away, foreheads resting against one another. You let your eyes flutter close.
“Get some sleep.” You felt the ghost of a kiss against your nose. “We have some shopping to do tomorrow.”
