How clarinets see other instruments
Flute: Younger cousin forever doomed to grow up in my shadow. Never hear them over the sound of my own awesomeness.
Oboe: Copycats
Soprano Clarinet: Adorable little baby sibling
Clarinet: God's Greatest Creation™
Saxophone: Weird curvy things that are supposed to sound like French horns. Only good for jazz.
Bass Clarinet: Cool older sibling
Bassoon: w h a t a r e y o u
Trumpet: STOP STEALING THE MELODY YOU ANNOYING PILES OF SCRAP METAL
French Horn: Amazing. Only brass instrument I respect as an equal.
Trombone: You sound like a elephant
Baritone: Tuba wannabe
Euphonium: Tiny tubas
Tuba: MOMMA ELEPHANT
Sousaphone: Shoulders Of Steel™
Percussion: how are you so bad you literally just bang on things
Of course, don’t save up for a clarinet in A. Save up for a basset clarinet, so you can play the Mozart correctly!

Switching from soprano clarinet to bass clarinet
Today
I got to play the bass clarinet for the first time. HOLY COW I love it so much <3 I like playing my soprano more, but the bass is just so much fun to play
