"Wake up sleepyhead!" Jax ripped the covers off of you.
You "whimpered" once the cold air sat in, waving your hand to shoo him away.
"Thought you abstracted, I'm surprised you lasted this long." He said with a coy smile.
You swung your legs off of the bed and stood up, shoving him away from you and left your room. Jax soon followed you out.
Once you arrived to the main area you overheard Ragatha teaching Gangle how to play softball.
"Oh hi Y/n! Do you want to play softball with us?"
You shook your head.
Jax picked up the softball bat, "I do!"
Gangle and Ragatha exchanged glances before finally agreeing, "Yeah..I guess." Gangle said.
"Sweet," Jax replied, getting into stance.
Gangle pitched the ball to Jax, as he swung the ball the it directly hit Gangle's comedy mask,"Oof!"
"Jax!" Ragatha yelled.
"I actually didn't mean to do that."
"Why do you always gotta do this?"
Jax walked towards Ragatha, "What? I just said it was an accident."
"Unbelievable. You are unbelievable!"
You continued to watch them argue as Zooble talked to Gangle before finally walking away.
You followed them as Ragatha and Jax followed behind you. The three of you (plus Pomni,) peaked through Zooble's room.
"What the heck is this?" He leans against the door, "You're just givin' away parts now?"
"So what if I am? I'm not giving any to YOU."
"Darn. I guess you're never gettin' that unicorn horn, Pomni."
"When did I ever say anything about that?"
Jax looked over to you, "Huh, forgot you were here."
You rolled your eyes.
"Did somebody say "adventure"?" Caine appeared.
"No...?" Pomni tilted her head.
"Today's adventure is...THE CURSE OF THE VIOLENT PSYCHOPATH BUTCHER! That's right! Scary human meat is all over the walls, and boy, is it smelly! It's up to you to--"
Pomni interrupted, "Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait. Can we, like, chill with the horror? Please? I really don't want this to be like last time."
"What happened last time? Was that the one made for me?" Zooble raised their voice.
"There was this awful, horrifying angel head thing. And when we tried to fight back at all, we got sent to Hell, where evil souls tried to infest our bodies... It was bad."
What the f#%*?
"Have you not checked the suggestion box once?" Zooble yelled.
"Gonna be real, I forgot we had that." He replied.
"We have a suggestion box?" Pomni questioned.
"Basically, no."
Caine teleported the box and dug through the notes, ""How about an adventure where Zooble gets turned into a piñata, and we all take turns beating them up?""
Jax chuckles, "That one's mine."
""Let's just have an adventure where Jax can't talk...for the entire thing.""
"Can we maybe pick one that's more... normal?" Gangle said.
"W-Well, I don't know what's NORMAL to you people! "Let's have one where we all work at a fast food place.", Is that normal?"
"Uh, yeah, that's pretty normal." She replied.
"Great! An Honest Hard Day's Work at Spudsy's Restaurant Chain! And YOU can be the shift manager!" He pointed to Gangle.
"Well, see you guys when it's over." Zooble started to walk away.
"What!" Caine yelled.
Kinger gasped, " Oh! I know! I could sit this one out, and Zooble could take my place!"
"Wh-- That's not how that works!"
"Great idea, Kinger! It'll be nice to have you back on board, Zooble."
Zooble argued back but before they could finish their sentence Caine teleported them.
You wrote in the note book, "i really don't want to do this."
"Too bad, mime." Jax pushed you through the portal.
It was nice to see everyone have different clothes on this time, and you believe you don't look too shabby yourself.
"Let's get to work, guys!" Gangle said, "Jax, it's your job to set up the drink station, make new coffee and iced tea, and fill the ice cream machine. So, get to it!"
You pointed to yourself.
"Hmm," Gangle thought, "Since you can't really talk, I guess you can put the food together!"
Of course.
"1 burger with stupid sauce!" Pomni yelled.
"Heard you loud and clear." Ragatha replied. "Gah!" She squirted the sauce in her eye. Out of curiosity you picked up the sauce and squirted a little bit into your mouth.
Ew, what kind of flavor is th-
All of a sudden it hit you. Seeing light colors, brain shutting down a bit, Oh my god.
You leaned over the silver counter, resting your head on the cold service. Jax lightly hit your cheek with the back of his hand. "What's up with you?"
Your eyes traveled from his hips all the way up to his face. He's actually kinda attractive in these new clothes. Must be the sauce.
"You look high," He laughed, "Nightmare nightmare nightmare!"
You scrunched your face and slowly sat up, feeling too dizzy you leaned onto Jax. "Hey now." He gently laid you on the floor. "I don't want to take care of you."
Gangle walked over, "Y/n! Do your jobbb!Anyway, put away that breakfast menu, because it's lunch time!"
You used Jax to stand back up, holding onto his arms. He stiffened up and lightly pushed you away.
"Oh, Ja-ax! The bathroom looks like a biohazard and needs a good scrubbin'." Gangle yelled.
"Uh, I dunno- shouldn't, like, a biohazard crew take care of that?"
She laughed, "Oh, Jaxy-boy. Don't you want to be a model employee?"
"No. I don't care about any of this. Just make Y/n clean the bathrooms!"
"Well, that doesn't really sound like a can-do attitude to me. Besides, Y/n is too high out of her mind to do anything! Maybe you two just need some more...training!"
Out of nowhere, two large hands grab you and Jax, pulling you into a dark room.
"Uh- Huh? Huh??" Jax stammered.
The hands tightened on you two, squeezing your bodies together. He's so warm. You rubbed your head on his shoulder.
"Stop doing that!"
You mouthed, "You're so warm."
"Gah!"
Suddenly, a video plays on a TV in front of you, showing Gangle talking about Spudsy's.
"Let me out! I don't want to be here!" He yelled, glancing over at you still mouthing all of your thoughts. "You're still trying to talk?!"
"F#%^ you."
He sighed, "Yeah, expected that one."
Finally after excruciating minutes later, the two of you were finally let go, planting onto the floor. He got up, looking down at your laying body. He sighed and threw you over his shoulder.
Jax laid you down in the booth and walked back into the kitchen, looking up at the clock. "Oh, are you KIDDING ME?! Hey, Gangle! I think the clock's broken."
You sat up in the booth and overheard Jax talking to Pomni.
"Y/n is high or something. Her and Ragatha."
"Is she okay?"
"I don't care about Ragatha."
"No, I meant is Y/n okay?"
He stayed silent for a bit, "Yeah." He whispered.
" Jax!" Gangle shouted, "There's dishes back here! You got time to lean, you got time to clean!"
"Ugh, God... I'm on it!"
At some point you ended up falling asleep in the booth, only to get woken up by Jax. "Let's go." He picked you up and threw you over his shoulder yet again. You softly tried to fight back but he didn't budge, just say "Stop it."
He threw you in the back seat before getting in the front. He sighed and looked at you in the rear view mirror. "Where am I even driving to?" He mumbled.
~~
A hesitant knock was on the other side of your bedroom door.
"Uh hello? Y/n?" Pomni said.
You got out of the bed and dragged your feet, opening the door to see Pomni with her wide red and blue eyes. "Oh thank god you're okay, I was worried."
You cocked your head.
"You just got really high during the adventure and saw Jax taking you to his car. Just wanted to make sure you're okay."
You gave her a comforting smile and walked out, walking with her to the main area.
Back on regular schedule, everyone gathered around the table again to eat digital sausage and bacon. You sat down between Pomni and Zooble, and was waiting for Jax to sit across from you, like he always does.
But this time he sat far away. You chewed on your lip. God why am I so upset over this? Get over it!...Must be the hangover from the sauce.
You debated about it for a minute or two, and then finally gave in. You grabbed the digital plate and walked over to sit across Jax. You didn't make any facial expression once you sat down, just continued to "eat" like nothing happened so you don't feel the embarrassment and the possible humbleness.
Jax glared at you, but soften his look. He slightly smiled to himself. "Did you get sad that I didn't sit across from you? You sure are clingy." He rested his arms on the table, giving you that same, cocky grin. He let himself get too close to you.
Your lips curled into a small smile, flipping him off in a playful way.
"I take that as a yes."
Thank god he's not mad at me.
Caine appeared out of thin air, with Bubble floating beside of him.
"Alright everyone! Im going to be busy so today is going to be a free day! You can do anything! Just don't go to the void, or any exit sign."
"We're going on a date." Bubble stuck his tongue out.
You turned your attention back to Jax, then tapped his hand so he can pay attention to you.
"What?" He looked a tad annoyed.
You shrugged your shoulders, made a X with your fingers, then used the same fingers to make a walking motion, meaning "Why no exit?"
"Beats me. We all asked that same question." He stood up from his chair but leaned onto the table so he's closer to you, and talked in a low voice, "Let me guess, you want to leave?"
You inaudibly gulped and made a "somewhat" sign with your hand.
He sat back down in his seat with a thud. "Are you trying?"
You felt uncomfortable, just staring at him. Eventually you answered his question, shaking your head no, but Jax had a hunch that youre going to try it, or is already trying.
About a split second later you got up from the chair and started walking away but Jax grabbed your arm, "Follow me,"
Jax led you to the hole that you orginally fell in days ago. He let go of your hand and turned around, giving you that same cheshire grin. "Go in."
You rolled your eyes, getting ready to jump in until you felt a push,
You mouthed, "Jax you b@$t3rd!" God I wish he could hear that. You landed quietly, with Jax sliding down right behind you.
"Fun wasn't it?" He laughed.
Not really. You got up and dusted off your clothes, mocking a smile.
"Oh come on you loved it. If you didn't then why would you come down here?"
That f^€|!ng smile. Your eyes rolled.
"Come on, let's play pool. I would make someone else play it with me but..I don't really like any of them. Plus I don't even think Zooble or Gangle can even play pool." He laughed to himself.
You stood there awkwardly, didn't know how to play. You know the rules, get your balls in the hole, but didn't know how to hold the cue sticks correctly.
Jax sat up the balls in the triangle order, and grabbed one cue stick, and then threw the other one to you.
Thankfully you caught it and then walked over to the pool table, standing across from Jax.
"I'm going first. I can always put it in first try."
He leaned over and held the front end of the stick with his left hand, and his right was gripping the bottom end.
Since he's the one that's breaking the triangle shape, he didn't have to measure or anything, just hit the white ball. The ball hit the other ones, and a stripped one went in the corner hole. Jax smirked, walking over to where it would be an easy success for the white ball to hit a stripe. To your surprise, he was actually good. He hit every single ball until he missed one. So now he only has 3 balls left.
"The cue slipped, thats all." He huffed. "Anyway mime, your turn."
You gave him a worrisome thumbs up and walked over to the white ball. You watched how he holds the stick and you definitely didn't want to ask for help.
You sighed and bent over like how he did, and held the cue stick. But it was hard for you to balance it. How the f^€| did he do this.
You ended up hitting the green cloth instead of the white ball, you mentally face palmed. Jax was practically in tears. "How did you managed to do that?" Jax slapped his knee.
You turned to him and shrugged your shoulders, pointing to the pool table.
Jax had to dramatically catch his breath. "Wait, you don't know how to hold it?"
A flush crept across your cheeks, shaking your head.
"Finnne, let me teach you." Jax dropped his cue stick and walked over to you, awkwardly getting behind.
"Basically you bend down to where your face is practically touching the rim of the table," He put his hands on your back, lightly forcing you to bend down. "Which one is your dominant hand?"
You lifted up your dominant hand, to which he grabbed and put it on the back end of the stick, his hand still on top of yours. "You're going to use this hand to push, and the other," your and his other hand was holding the front part of the stick, "hand is going to hold the stick so it's easier to line it up with the white ball."
Since you both was holding the stick and bent down, your a$$ was touching his groin.
Kill me now.
Jax didn't realize the position that you guys was in until he felt your @$$ on him, he wasn't complaining, but he didn't meant for it to happen.
You tried clearing your throat to make it not awkward. Well $h|t
"So once you measure it, you push the stick." Once the white ball started rolling you guys quickly got out of that position. The ball hit the red fully colored ball into the hole.
"Told you I can put it in first try." He winked.
You flipped him off and leaned against the wall. "You have to go again." He put one hand on his hip.
You rolled your eyes and got in that position again, hitting the white ball to the full colored one but missed the hole.
The two of you went at it for some time. "So," Jax started, "Do you remember anything from your past?"
You answered "somewhat" with your hand.
"Like what?"
You pointed to your mouth.
"Charades? I'm also pretty good at it." He grinned.
You put your cue stick down and thought about it. You put your hands up and made a mouth with your fingers, making both hands "yell" at each other.
"Uhhh people yelling?"
You nodded.
"Parents?"
You shrugged, but youre thinking that's what might be it. You then did the "mime" cry where they ball their fist and make a "boo-hoo" motion.
"You were a cry baby?"
You glared at him, but then nodded. You hugged herself and shivered.
"You were cold all the time?"
This @$$hole.
You did it again, then added the yelling, then crying.
"Oh, scared?"
You stopped what you were doing and nodded your head, grabbing the cue stick again.
"You must remember a lot because I barely remember what my life was like."
You shook your head and pointed to your temple.
"The emotions of your past?" He grabbed his cue stick as well.
How the h3$& did he guess that?
You nodded as you got in the position again to hit the balls, in which you still didn't succeed.
Jax focused on you, not on your form of playing pool, but focused more on your face. Your lips trembled a bit, and your blinking increased like you was trying to hold back tears.
You slightly remember how you never talked to anyone, you were often pushed to the side or forgotten. Now it sucks because A: you dont remember the exact events, and B: you can't talk anymore and is easily forgotten because you can't make any sound.
Jax got up since it was his turn to play, and he ended up missing a perfect shot because he wasn't focused on the pool game. After that weak shot, he walked over to you and patted your back once or twice, "There, there."
You slowly looked up at him and tried not to laugh, but ended up silently laughing.
"I can't tell if you're laughing or crying." He joked, he can see your full smile, chest moving like how a normal person would laugh. He never saw you laugh until now. "By the way...do you remember anything at Spudsy's? You were really high."
You made a "eh" face.
Jax laughed, "You were so annoying. At one point you kept nuzzling me or something!"
You covered your face with your hands.
"Can't wait to tell everyone!"
You frantically shook your head no.
"Awh, now I'm sad that you don't want me to tell anyone! Too bad, because I already told them!"
F#%* you.
