#SOSCuba is trending on Twitter and I figure it’s only a matter of time before it ends up here so friendly reminder that if you’re NOT Cuban and especially if you ARE American if your idea on how to “help Cuba” doesn’t begin and end with calling for the end of the US blockade on Cuba that literally every country in the world supports ending except for the United States and Isr*el which is preventing Cuba from distributing its five homemade COVID vaccines and other lifesaving medicines to its own people you have worms for brains and couldn’t give less of a shit about the Cuban people

I think it is — it is always, in a way, uncomfortable for us, as Cubans, to listen to any American politician wishing us the best, while at the same time applying a policy that’s exactly the opposite, you know? Sure, who can oppose to the idea of a government listening to its people and the idea of everything working out for the better? Sure. That is ideal. But at the same time, it’s a bit hypocritical to not mention the biggest problem to our economy. We’re talking about a moment in which we’re living in crisis. People are taking to the streets because we are in a crisis. And that crisis is largely due to the United States sanctions. So, to come out and just support people, no. I mean, the biggest support the Biden administration could offer to the Cuban people is to lift the sanctions, especially during the period of the pandemic.

If you are in support of the Authoritarian Regime in Cuba, use Cuba as an example of socialism, and/or defend the actions of Fidel Castro, Miguel Díaz-Canel (the current cuban president.) and any of those associated with the Horrid regime. Because everyone is apparently incapable of seeing the difference between a clash over politics and a clash over human rights, let’s talk about Cuba AGAIN.

Everyone is making this into capitalism vs communism when it ISN’T. People who are communist can condemn the Cuban regime because you know what? Condemning a dictatorship that is killing its people has NOTHING TO DO with personal politics.

I am SICK AND TIRED of seeing people talk about this just being the ‘capitalist US sabotaging communist Cuba,’ and saying that siding against the Cuban government is siding with capitalism.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. This has to do with the fact that the people are starving, the government has the press by the throat, the military is killing people, and more.

You can argue in favor of socialism and communism all you want on a fucking DIFFERENT post and tag, and you can argue against it on a DIFFERENT post and tag, because right now Cubans are crying for help because of a dictatorship, not your woke politics.

Open your eyes and realize that communist governments can suck ass just as much as capitalist ones. Socialist ‘heroes’ like Che Guevara can be murderers. The list goes on, because it’s not about politics it’s about fucking RIGHTS, and the right for Cubans to STAY ALIVE and HAVE A SAY IN THEIR GOVERNMENT.
