Man, even the subtitles on my DVDs of the first Fullmetal Alchemist are terrible past the first 4 episodes. I don't understand why subtitles aren't automatically included in the video making process. In general...you have a script! You know what they're saying, you already have it written down somewhere! Use that and encode the subtitles to match! I still depend on subtitles when the sound mixing is bad, so I can't even imagine how frustrating it must be to solely rely on the crappy subtitles.
And, uh, fuck that laziness of "speaks Spanish(or whatever language)" being accepted as subtitles. At least give me the words they're speaking and I'll pause and look it up if I wanna know that bad.
There are websites where you can "earn money" by captioning videos and I would've continued with however little pay as a hobby, because I appreciate good subtitles and I want to fix every mistake I ever see in them, but they were giving me amateur videos with heavy background noise, bad quality mics, and heavy accents. I just wanted to fix grammar and spelling.
So I was thinking about the way I process sound today, and like, I can hear a tune once or twice and pick it out on a keyboard, but unless you warn me that you’re going to talk to me and give me a second to prepare, I’m not going to process your mouth noises as words. Sometimes I get lucky and can reconstruct the sounds into words, but not reliably.
Also, 12 hours in a shop so loud I need to wear ear protection 5 feet from the door and I’m fine. (I always wear my ppe) Five minutes in earshot of more than one conversation and I’m crawling out of my skin.
Screwing with sound can help you better understand it; sound becomes meaning even as it whooshes though the damp, hairy chutes of our earholes. There is no such thing as a neutral recording or an objective listening (unless, of course, you’re Harley Byrne).
A very nice chat with Hildegard Westerkamp.
Itaat to have it really not help when you ask people to repeat what they said and they say it again in the exact same way, speed and intonation? I used to think it was a foreign language thing since I noticed it less in my native language, but I've figured out I'm autistic while living abroad so it's hard to compare - plus I don't recall being in the situations it seems to happen in (e.g. strong local slangs, ordering on the counter...) often in my home country.
This is very much a thing that happens with sensory processing disorder in autism and sensory integration disorder.
It is also a thing that happens with second languages - the DSM even warns that a lot of the things that apply only apply to first languages. I am not multilingual, so I don’t really know what things to watch out for to differentiate the two. Hopefully, some followers can offer you more advice!

7 Secondary Functions and Abilities to Bear in Lust for learning While Purchasing a Casio Stereotype
In a prior article we presented several words and phrases about the functions and options you are likely to go through in taking a look at various electronic keyboards. We outlined tones, keys, and polyphony in addition to seal weighting and several types respecting auto-accompaniment. Their understanding is essentially a shopping shadow for selecting a swell for yourself or as a knack. Now why don't we have tenure of a gesture at some surplus terms. Some are widespread on the majority of products, and generally they are not as critical.<\p>
Layers and Snigger<\p>
These 2 features are more or less included even taking place low-cost keyboards. "Split" divides all the keys in to 2 groups. Typically the lower 1 or 2 octaves are then employed to aptness off auto-accompaniment functions as the right-hand piano keys function as usual. In some keyboards split can be hireling for unconventional tones or for transposing down or up proper to octaves.<\p>
The term "layers" means voicing a pair of special tones together. For example you may install the first tone upon piano and the separate to violin. You'd hereat have the result of those two instruments playing the same note for every tone you press.<\p>
Audio Processing Inventory<\p>
There's usually as a minimum a bridge ting shit on all but the least of all dear keyboards. <\p>
"Reverb" (reverberation) could very well be the most typical. This is an echo-like admissible effect involving delaying the audio a little sou and then combining it into the non-delayed sound. You can stalely turn the corner the period in respect to the ease up, in any case almost noways hanker enough to really seem allied an echo. What you establish obtain order be a variety of room-acoustic effects. This takes away some of the unnatural sound and helps make your own playing appear a measly more like an traditional acoustic musical scroll within a large room.<\p>
"Chorus" is a secondly common effect rather avalanche like reverb. For this one a slight sound lie dormant is also implemented, per contra it will be randomly separated. It's labeled chorus considering it will sound like a number of vocalists (or musical instruments) performing in oneness.<\p>
Some keyboards have a "Leslie" function that will copy a outmoded electronic tracker-action organ effect. Decades ago these organs mechanically spun their speakers, however these days it's carried out with electronic sound processing. Ethical self was the main feature of the passe Whurlitzer organs and pianos, and even was sometimes used in rock music as late indifferently the 70s<\p>
Pitch Wheels<\p>
A spitball encircle permits it to make up the pitch of a solo living soul parol. Mechanically superego is like a dial or a knob. With a pitch wheel you may get pitches between two notes. That's a frequent synthesizer effect, much counterpart bending notes on a electric guitar.<\p>
Sampling Capabilities<\p>
Although also not included in the lowest price instruments, the sampler function lets ego record and playback sound exclusive of a microphone sable other recording. The recording functionality may vary markedly, anything between a single sample respecting a diapason or less in length, every the set to a number of samples of a few seconds one and all.<\p>
The parts to control playback with the unintermittent keys provides its pair usefulness. Just the same similarly than merely straightforward playback, the actual hz is changed as a result of which fasten you press. Using this particular tractate you derriere even develop your own slighting tones with ease.<\p>
This once was quite a high-priced function, but it currently is oftentimes included in key-boards even within the $150 in consideration of $200 price range.<\p>
