What drew you to my blog?

[💀] - David is so underrated, and I do not know why people don't love him! He's so fascinating! Mutants have been an allegory for minority groups in the Marvel comics, and David is the poster child for mentally ill and neurodivergent people. Sure, a lot of his portrayal has been poor and stereotypical and not accurate of DID, but I can see the massive potential in him for stories about that. His X-Men Legacy story did a good job as a start.

Then there is the fact that his deal is 'My dad had the dream. I will make the reality.' Fucking take that up Marvel! Do something with this wonderful, rebellious potential!

Anyway, no more ranting. Thank you for being interested in my boy and liking my writing! I am so intrigued by Dazzler, and you seem so passionate about her, and you've put so much thought into her. I would love to get a thread or two going with these guys. It could be interesting.

they say disco never dies. but curiosity doesn't seem to, either. not that it's a bad thing. she's long since been used to fielding questions left and right about all sorts of things. her dual-power set included.

though it is wild that the alison blaire - the dazzler - is asking her the questions now. like she's the one being interviewed.

"pretty competent," kie nods her head, "i mean, there's always more to learn, but all in all? i'm good."

because she had to be.

because there was no other alternative.

when you're the daughter of jackson and saraswati stronghold (nee nadeer), when you're the granddaughter of theodore and elizabeth stronghold (nee forest), you have to be good.

"i am of the opinion that you only truly grow old and decrepit when you stop learning at all. which is why i still look as cute as i do because i will never stop learning." she beams at miss dazzler. "anyway, me being adorable aside, i can and will admit that i've definitely had my ups and downs in regards to my powers, but i wouldn't change them for anything, which i've said before. ask aisling! i'm sure she'll back me up on that."

WAS IT AN X-MEN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY WITHOUT A PERFORMANCE BY DAZZLER? Alison was the X-Men's #1 friend when it came to unconditional support. Julian was aware she had been a steadfast friend to many members of the team long before his mutant gene activated at age twelve. Hell, can flatscans say the same? Are the regular humans friends with a musical sensation? Not that Julian would consider himself a friend to Alison, meeting in passing after all 900 tragedies he's survived has helped him become aware of her empathy and support, but even if they aren't exactly close, Megan managed to convince her to perform a little for his birthday. YOU ONLY TURN 22 ONCE, and admittedly he was enjoying himself, drink in hand and smiling bashfully at her spectacular performance and her almost campy compliments towards his looks.

MEGAN AND CESSILY WERE LOUD, FLANKING HIM WITH THEIR CHEERS AND LAUGHTER. His face was red, flushed with embarrassment. Not for attraction towards the older woman, or anything ridiculous like that, but because any compliment thrown his way nowadays made him feel better, cut through the shame that unfortunately still plagued him. Deep down he knew she probably did this for all venues she booked, but when he glances down at his metal hands and she doesn't grimace or send him looks of pity it feels great. He feels like himself, Julian just feels lighter, maybe because of the alcohol in his system, but when Alison wraps her arms around him after her performance he hugs her back. Gratitude lifting his spirits way more than anything else at the party. "Thank you. You were great, I can't remember the last time I had a regular birthday party worth celebrating."

"not at all," laughs the younger of the two, "but thank you." she gives dazzler a dazzling smile. "may i try again? i know i can get it right this time! i can feel it!"

Exhaustion wasn't even the word Alex would use to describe how tired he was, and based on Alison's own tone he could tell she was feeling it too. Realistically he should have known that driving around with his fellow mutant and a celebrity would cause some sort of terrible event to happen. Whether it be an attack by anti mutant zealous group or being swarmed by Dazzler fans ... he didn't expect both to happen in the same outing.

Alex knew he looked a wreck, blonde hair a mess atop of his head, his fingers curled tightly around the steering wheel of his car that luckily received little damage from both bigot and fans alike. Pointing a mock glare over at Ali, he finally retracts his hands. " Next time? Ali, if we're going to ever hang out again, we're going somewhere super remote where people don't recognize you. My driving had nothing to do with today's disaster! " Being blinded by a bunch of cameras had nearly screwed up his ability to effortlessly blast an asshole into an alleyway.

Exhaling harshly, he manages a tired smile despite his earlier protest. " Sorry we didn't really get to catch up. Want to order food and just relax? Anything that doesn't require me to move too much would be preferred. The bane of being friends with a superstar, yeah? "
