Transformers bond concept Ideas

So, we all know what a Conjunx Endura is in transformers, it’s the cybertronian equivalent of a wife or husband. You may also know the Amica Endura bond, which can be summarized as “we're best friends but it’s like super important that we are alr?”.

I’ve also encountered the Trine Bond, AKA a fan-made bond concept (I think I could be wrong) that unites three seekers together, romantically or not. It’s rarely more or less than three, hence the self-explanatory name.

Now I have a few other ideas for bond concepts that I’d like to share:

Filia/Filius Endura: the cybertronian equivalent of adoption. Filia is if it’s a femme sparkling, Filius is understandably if it’s a mech. This bond can happen at all ages, but will be stronger if it happens during the sparkling stage of a cybertronian.

Amor Endura: I’ve already seen something similar before, so if you see an older post about this, please let me know so I can credit them. So we have marriage with the Conjunx Endura bond, so maybe we could get the cybertronian equivalent of a boyfriend/girlfriend that isn’t necessarily married?

Familia Endura: this is self-explanatory but I’ll still give a brief description. When two cybertronians, carrier and sire, have a sparkling, an instant bond starts to form. This is the cybertronian equivalent of a parent’s unconditional love towards their children.

Insolitus Endura: this is not a bond, more like a genetic shield against the Amor and Conjunx Endura spark bonds. This “shield” is the cybertronian equivalent of barely or not feeling any romantic AND/OR sexual attraction towards another bot (being Aro/Ace to make it short). Although this shield is seen as a “forge defect” (birth defect), it’s very bendable (like the aro/ace spectrums). Despite this, it’s harder for bots with this shield to find a “lover”, even if they want to find one, but it’s not impossible.

y'know the third? ask i sent in on this blog. the one about sunstreaker getting passed around the air barrack after getting fucked by starscream. i've been thinking about that but from sideswipe's perspective.

i think the twins have the ability to somewhat block what comes through their spark bond, but only in regards to faint sensations/more regulated emotions.

so like, picture sideswipe minding his own business. he's a bit worried about sunny being captured by the decepticons but he knows that his twin will be alright, after all, no one could possibly get to sunstreaker without loosing a servo or having their throat cables torn out

but like, halfway through a shift he feels his panels start to heat up and his valve starts gushing slick. he gets all embarrassed, trying desperately to keep the bond shut bc he does not wanna feel his brother presumably getting assaulted by the enemy but he can't help but moan as he feels the phantom sensation of calipers stretching wide around a spike, his node getting pinched and pulled, and the slide of a glossa against his throat cables.

he staggers back to their habsuite panting and moaning and trying his best not to leak through his panels. he passes a few bots in the hall and they mock him for the slutty expression on his face plates and he weakly protests that it's not him, it's sunstreaker. that it's stupid brother's fault for getting captured and turned on by being fucked by a decepticon

when he finally makes it back to his room he collapses on the floor, panels snapping back and valve pressed against the cold floor as sideswipe rocks in time with the phantom sensations of sunny getting fragged

i have a thing for sunstreaker and sideswipe being unrelentingly horny without a single fucking care for what the other one is doing. like they don't wanna frag each other but neither of them are considerate enough of the other to warn them when they're about to feeling their spike or valve getting fucked.

twin bonds are so much fun for public interfacing, humiliation, and exhibitionism

I was recently thinking about the shit we’ve done to Sunstreaker… sighs dreamily. It was really great.

Sideswipe feeling his twin whoring himself out is a top notch fantasy. There is no stimulation yet he can feel the slide of a fat spike against his nodes. His valve flutters hotly around nothing as he stumbles to his hab-suite, trying to send some choice words through the bond. Sunstreaker is clearly enjoying himself in capture, Sideswipe can feel his twin's overloads rolling by, gasping with each because it’s not enough to make Sideswipe’s frame actually release charge, but his processor certainly pretends it is.

I can’t get enough of Sideswipe rubbing himself against the floor, against the edge of his berth, against the corner of his desk…. what if he didn’t make it to his hab-suite though? What if Sideswipe was forced to open his panels in the middle of a hallway, rubbing his valve frantically as he tries to match the phantom pace of those filthy decepticons debauching his brother.

His own humiliation mixes with the humiliation that Sunstreaker is sending through the bond. People walk by and jeer, but Sideswipe can barely just strain out that this is all Sunstreaker’s fault, stop staring.

the possibilities in an LDR between two bots... stationed at different fronts of the war, or maybe they are on different sides. the bots aren't limited to pictures, they can send what they are feeling - yearning to fuck their partner, or how the toy they are currently using feels like etc. 'wish you were here' and its a five second capture of all their impressions while they were getting fucked by a third person.

spark-bonds are so interesting to me, especially in the context of long distance relationships. Two bots stationed far away from each other, settling in for the night, anxious with the sounds of missile fire in the background, war raging on, when suddenly one of them feels the other send a surge of charge through the bond. Warmth, love, lust fill their chassis. 

The bot just dozes off, feeling their partner pleasuring themself, or perhaps having sex with someone else - they don’t hold it against them, they both have their needs, after all. It’s a dull kind of pleasure, the second-hand overload cackling through their circuits, leaving them full of unreleased charge. Their partner tugs on the bond, urging them to send an overload back. They oblige.

or, if we want to go a more fluffy direction, let’s talk about a bot that can feel their partner’s frustration leaking through the bond no matter how hard they try to hide it, so they send affection, waves of calm towards them, until the bot begins to cool down. People see them put a hand on their chassis right as their plating loosens, and they know they’re being calmed through their bond <3

I believe in Kiyoko’s stuff spark bonds are pretty much forever unless one side dies or befalls some sort of tragedy. Like, in Tangled Destiny, Skyfire’s bond still doesn’t break even after Starscream has been encased in ice for millions of years. And I still love scenes like the one where Skyfire gets so mad about Ratchets comments on his bond that he nearly attacks him, that’s a powerful scene.

It’s more the idea bonds can be voluntarily broken, like if a relationship goes sour or it’s just not working out what are you going to do then? It doesn’t seem to come up in Kiyoko’s fics. I know Pink_Shoes headcanons it so that you can break bonds if you want to (I just think it hasn’t been directly mentioned in her fics). It’s more a personal preference thing really, but I just can’t help but think bonds could go really wrong in the wrong circumstances, and like with any relationship you should be able to change your mind. (In fact I was working on some dark bond stuff with SG SkyStar, which is not a good relationship and SG Star deserves not to have his soul tied to SG Sky forever).

Like I say, it’s personal preference but the idea of being trapped in a relationship forever even if you want to leave feels more terrifying than romantic.

Thundercracker + Skywarp

I tend to ship them more familial-y. They are a fairly common ship I tend to see in fics so I’m always cool when it shows up but in my own stuff… I don’t think I tend to ship them that much?

I think it comes down to I prefer trine bonds as more of a BFF bond than an OT3 bond like some people portray it as. I think spark bonds with a conjunx endura should be the OTP bond, but trine bonds to me feel more functional as they seem needed to work better with the squad you’re flying with. So I guess in my own writing I tend to write TC and Warp as being buddies as opposed to being a couple. No real reason for it, just kinda preferences.

But TC and Warp are cute together. Warp is such a goof and TC is able to keep him in check a bit. Even though they’re both himbos.

(also my opinion is bonds are not unbreakable and you can leave/change your trine/partner at any time. Just like... what if you end up getting bonded to an asshole? Or someone abusive? And now they have a psychic link to you for the rest of time? That’s horrifying. You should be allowed to change your mind and go back on your decision if it doesn’t work out)

So anyway, I guess that was my miscellaneous thoughts on bonds rather than anything much about the pairing. Sorry.

running today and thinking abt spark bonds interacting with the spark rate of a mech, like athletes are known to have higher heart rate ranges than other ppl, while im running mine's usually at 180 and while resting between 55-60, and younger people also have slower resting rates and wider ranges than adults. so im imagining like, spark merges after intense activity have really fast memory exchange rates, but maybe a couple just chillin will have more time to like really dive into each others' memories?

How does divorce work for Cybertronians who bonded? Does an end to merging regularly like get rid of the telepathy?

Great question I actual plan to explore through Ratchet and Wheeljack!

Breaking a spark bond isn’t possible, but dampening is. In much the same way long term disuse, distance, and conscious blocking can hamper or completely eliminate the telepathic aspects of bonding (in contrast, consistent use and/or merging can strengthen a bond), divorce looks like a separation of both parties where one or both elect to close off the bond. This halts communication through it and weakens subsequent communication attempts. For Ratchet and Wheeljack, their divorce results in them losing their telepathic abilities (talking and emotion sharing over the bond) until they mutually decide keeping it maintained is more beneficial for reasons I won’t spoil. Merging and increased use brings back the ability.

To answer the question about reduced merges, it depends how consistently the bond is used whether it dampens. If two people divorce and so stop merging and using the bond, then it will go quiet. If two people are still together just not physically for a long stretch of time, then continued use of the connection will maintain it. Think of the Waves. They’re separated for several decades but use their bond regularly enough to combat the effects of distance.

There are some fics I’ve seen where bonding can only occur with one person, and sometimes only death can free the other person to bond to someone else. I won’t be using that concept. Sparks are not that fragile in my continuity and are able to form multiple bonds with multiple people at a time. If two bondmates divorce and one or both want to remarry, they are cool to do so regardless of the state of the initial bond. Seekers do this often, two parties bonding then later finding and bonding to the third to form a trine.
