hey, no worries at all!! don’t apologize for not catching everything!! i realized today on a third viewing that i even slightly misremembered who speaks which language in that scene so it’s not like my memory is perfect ;)
it’s pretty early in the movie, when oliver misses dinner and elio comments on his “later” thing being rude. after dinner, elio is sitting inside with his family and his father asks him to play something on the piano in english, elio replies in italian that he doesn’t feel like it, then his mother asks him in french why he doesn’t feel like it, he replies in french, followed by his mother scolding him in english. so technically elio only speaks two languages in this scene, but the scene itself is comprised of three languages
