About 50% Off

It’s been a while since Episode 19, and it’s settling in, in my mind at least, that we’ve probably seen the last of 50% Off. So I thought about how good an ending the series had, pondering Haru’s final line as he prepared to dive.

“It doesn’t matter, you don’t need to understand now.”

Yeah, that’s pretty good. Only that’s not Haru’s final line in 50% Off. I watched it again. Remarkably, I had remembered the original line from Free! XD The actual last words of 50% Off were:

“Don’t you know?... I’m Haru.”

My conclusion: if this is the ending, it holds up fine. I’m prepared to put the parody to rest. That said, I should marathon 50% Off again soon.
