How much does Cross know about the Hollow Knight situation? I assume they must have noticed Nosk's trophy collection at some point, so they know other vessels escaped, but do they know of or somehow sense their sibling in the Black Egg? (I'm sorry if I'm bothering you I just really love murder child XD)

Just played through all the routes in Princess of Swords and absolutely loved it. Hell, it made me want to write a text game myself. XD Looking forward to the next update, thank you so much!

Wait, what? I thought the site shut down-I got an email about it and everything.

yeah, they shut down at the start of 2020 but someone bought them and now the website is back up! they're doing like a phased relaunch and the app isn't on the store anymore, but i never uninstalled mine so i still have it and i'm making this face: ;A;

The sad part about this is any happiness I’d get from drawing things I want to draw is cancelled out by the overwhelming indifference to outright dislike that I always get the feeling most people have for that stuff when I do draw it.

Meanwhile, the only stuff that people seem to care about and actually enjoy is the stuff I’m indifferent to/drew with no positive investment towards. The “just get it over with” stuff.

It’s been a gradual, soul-grinding net-loss of emotional energy this entire year, to feel like my interests and enthusiasm towards said interests are at best merely tolerated (and, at worst, outright disliked) by people who would rather just see me crank out emotionless, unfulfilling nonsense.

And I know, I know. “Don’t care about what other people think.”

If I did that, there would be no point in posting art publicly at all.

If I didn’t care about what others thought of my work, I’d stop drawing entirely.

Actually, about 90% of the builds on that world were either pre-made in TEdit (so we wouldn’t spend that much time distracting ourselves with building the basics at the start, to go with the whole “bring an Accessory” gimmick to make the early game not the usual samey slog that it is otherwise) or mine, since the other two had been so busy for most of the playthrough that I’d just log on and build things while waiting around.

Incidentally, J can’t build at all. ‘Kita builds really nice stuff, though, mainly on her personal server (which I’ve been to only once) but has been on the least due to taking care of her toddler son and prepping for the new babby.

I’m just the only one of us who doesn’t have enough of a life, lol. =3=;

How did you create and keep up with such detailed personalities and backstories for your characters? I haven't even read about a bunch because I don't know anything about the games they're from, but holy shit I would read novels about your Elder Scrolls characters. ;-; They feel so alive.

Aww, thank you so much! I’m really glad to hear you’ve enjoyed my characters and their adventures. Heh, I think mostly it has to do with me spending way too much time thinking about fictional people… :’D

I wrote a bit about my character creation process here, and I think the art analogy I used still applies. At first my characters are little more than stick figures with some rough outlines - the very basic idea I have about them. Little by little they start gathering these details: backstory snippets, quirks, personality traits, hopes, fears, likes and dislikes. I can usually remember this character related stuff pretty well because they’re rarely details for the sake of details. If these things didn’t have some significance for the character and/or the story I probably wouldn’t have thought about them in the first place. It does help that I have tumblr tag for each of my characters (plus some hand-written notes of course) so I can easily double check if a part of character’s backstory is a bit hazy in my mind. 

Basically all of that adds to the sketch until it eventually starts to resemble an actual person. And then at some point you realize that they have developed such definitive personalities that they just grab the wheel from your hands and steer the story wherever they want to go without even asking you. :v
