Apothecary Boxes
These Indian boxes were an anniversary gift many years ago.
They now sit upon my main altar, but are often draped in embroideries and not terribly visible.
When we lived in North Little Rock I bought my spices in bulk from an Indian market that was in the same strip mall as our favorite Indian restaurant (now sadly closed). I used these boxes to store my spices.
Now that we’ve been back in the country for years, the spices are nearly depleted. I’m thinking about cleaning what remains out and using them to store the dried plants from this years foraging.
The big one weighs 14LB when empty!
When we lived in Fort Smith they fit perfectly in this little niche in front of the stairs. ( @sagescented we were almost Oklahomans for a year! 😜 That part of the state feels completely different).
