May every yapper find their attentive listener. 🙏🏼
I still don't get it, but we girls melt a little when our partner gets jealous of another guy.
Not because of the jealousy— but because, for a moment, it reminds us that losing us would matter.
There’s a Turkish saying: “You fall in love with a pair of eyes, and then you become blind to all other eyes.”
🌹 the boys i’ve met never reached the height of his pink sock
they call themselves men
but flinch at eyeliner
or a skirt
or softness
or anything that doesn’t scream control.
i’ve dated boys who’d rather die than feel.
boys who post shit on facebook like
“if you wear fluffy pink slippers, unfriend me.”
as if a color could threaten masculinity.
as if freedom offends them more than cruelty.
and then there’s him.
the boy in the skirt.
the lipstick-smudged saint.
the chaos incarnate with poetry under his nails.
he walks like a question no one dares to answer.
he bleeds in songs and heals in screams.
he is more man in fishnets
than any of the concrete-headed boys i’ve shared a bed with.
he is father to the lost sons who mock him.
they’ll never admit it,
but he makes them feel the absence of a father
they never really had.
he’s not performing.
he’s surviving —
in glitter, in leather, in truth.
and me?
i’m done apologizing for wanting more.
for wanting a man who doesn’t choke on vulnerability.
who isn’t terrified by art, or color, or fucking honesty.
i’m not soft.
i’m not easy.
i’m a goddamn firestorm
and i need a match, not a muzzle.
so if my standards burn you —
step aside.
this isn’t your story.
this is mine.
and it’s fucking loud.
//Smoke//
You're the lit tip
Of a cigarette
I drag into my lungs
Pressed between my lips
Held precariously
You're the reason I burn
You float in the snow clouds
Like cats on the walls
Silence wafts in the skies
Write
More and more people
Seek refuge in their words
More and more need to
Find an escape from the world
~
Soo many new souls
Captured by darkness
Will never feel whole
As the world itself darkens
~
What can they do
But find joy in the little things?;
Finds different shades in the blue
Try to fill the void the world brings
~
What can they do
Than try to aspire?;
Make their dreams come true
Be the ones that they admire
~
What can they do
But fantasise?;
Make a different world in their view
Make a different life,
that's not true
~
What can they do, what else can they try?
There's nothing they can do but write
~
