Ultimate BDork holiday!
This September I’m going to Parc Spirou in France and Spiroufest aka Fete de BD in Belgium. I was going try go to the festival this year anyway since my cousin who lives there said I could stay with her but I thought while I’m in mainland Europe I should try and go to Spirou park too.
It’s also half celebrating that I have a consistent job for once, probably in my life (at a hotel lol) and of course the other half me being a big dork.
Random pictures from Sunday: I kept hearing about this Gaston balloon that was going to be unveiled at the parade and I thought it would be like the Spirou or the Tintin balloons so this was surprising but I suppose it goes with the balloons they were giving out all weekend.
I finally found the Spirou mural! 😍 Then nearly opposite from that I found the Benoît Brisefer one, I then wandered off in some random direction trying to find the way back to the park and came across the Yoko Tsuno mural.
I couln’t really get a good angle on the balloons but I got the Betty Boop one anyway, most of them from my old pictures from 2014 were there (x) minus Garfield and Darth Vader .There were 2 penguins of Madagascar there. I was hoping to get all 4 before I took a picture, but they never did add the other two.
I really liked these Spirou and Fantastio dressed as Lucky Luke characters from one of the comic figure shops.

Walking in Brussels, I saw a lot of Dutch shops clustered. Kruidvat, Zeeman and Blokker. I wonder if the French-speaking people in Brussels can even pronounce ‘Kruidvat’. There was also a Hema in the neighbourhood.
Saturday evening, some artists were painting with fluorescent paint. It was apparently very dangerous material because they were all wearing protecting suits. Look at that angry Marsupilami.
Balloons from Spiroufest.
In the Comic café, close to the Spirou mural, Inês and me were reading comics. I found a Tintin album in Bruxellois (the language which used to be spoken in Brussels, a mixture of Dutch and French, usually French words with Dutch grammar), it’s very interesting to read. I read Le journal d’ingénu in Bruxellois too (Le journal d’un slumme kadei), but that one is more similar to French while this Tintin album is rather similar to Dutch, although I can’t make out everything.

In the reading room in the Comic book museum, Inês and me were, obviously, reading. I found some noticeable pages and panels. These are all mobile pictures so quite hazy.
The page in which Spirou has a twin brother. He never reappeared. Spirou and his twin work together to cheat on a running game.
