I always loved seeing people’s headcannons on daily life and stuff, so it’s finally time I made some of my own.

remaking my old splatoon oc (the one literally all of my usernames are named after(spike)) because she has no ref sheet and I felt like I should doodle The Scale Of Salmonling

the salmonling are a product of the salmonid-octarian alliance(cannon btw, its where the salmonids gets their machines). they are naturally resistant to water, are occasionally bioluminescent, possess tails,and are usually bred for battle.

an octarian scientist some years ago (before the octarian weapons became wireless) wanted to try and make a better army.

they basically blended a golden egg, some power eggs, and whatever the hell is going on with The Hand Sanitizer Blended Octarian Sludge Of Doom And Despair in kamabo co. to make the first ever salmonid !!! there were 2 mixtures: the one with more eggs (made Kype) and the one with more sludge (made Gillsquid)

salmonids are capable of reproduction (im not sure how yet but they can), and some went on to live quiet lives outside of being a soldier.

some salmonids are born with extraordinary abilities. these include -water breathing -super strength -increased speed and jump height -scales on places other than tail (acts as natural armor) -increased size -the ability to eat fuzzy ooze (rarely ever documented in salmonlings) salmonlings who posess one or more of these abilities are known as Supersalmon and are forced to become a soldier. some families have to hide their children and their powers to keep them from being sent away. this works only 30% of the time.

In Octarian Domes, barbers are actually pretty important.

Because when Octarians get a haircut they make tentatroopers, which make up the majority of the Octarian military, along with many labor positions throughout the domes, barbers offer their services for free, and instead are paid by the government to do their jobs.

Barbers are trained in how to cut tentacles to create different varieties of tentatrooper, getting orders to prioritize or lessen the production of certain varieties depending on current population demographics, even occasionally damaging the tentacle cuttings to the point nothing will spawn if there is too much of a general surplus.

Hey guys, I swear to fuck I’ve been doing more shit about the stuff I posted about last time. Thing is, though- just not on Tumblr!!

I forget that this app exists like 90% of the time I’m on my phone, lmao. Instead I’m mainly on Discord. Speaking of discord by the way, I run a Splatoon themed server if you guys (points at the people who enjoyed my goldie character) wanna see more scrunkly fishes…. I’m working on them there…. It’s a mostly role-play oriented server.

I have made a whole new race of salmonid because I have no self control <3! They live in the Great North (Splatoon Canada). The Rocky Mountain is inhabited by a whole other civilization which they fight against and it’s just…. Oooogh, can’t explain it all in one tumblr post or you’d be reading for over an hour- they’re called clawed salmonids. They have more limbs, claws, sharp teeth, and fuckin *eyebrows,* cause why not? (Answer: they big ol eyeballs would get cold without em).

I’ve also made up creatures that live in the wild- electric tigerfish (a relative of the Zapfish known for their stripes), drakes (GIANT LIZARDS), these little geckos that pretend to be leaves, and a livestock animal called the rockhoof.

BUT ECLIPSE!! YOU CAN’T JUST TELL US ALL THIS STUFF AND NOT PROVIDE THE DISCORD LINK!!

I need you to know that my discord server is very specific. We have lots of lore set in place- it’s very important to read channel descriptions and ESPECIALLY PINNED MESSAGES in the Headcanon and worldbuilding channels!! And just so I don’t have to ping you when you join- read everything in the intro category.

The server isn’t active ALL the time because it’s a private server that consists of me and a bunch of friends. Not sure if I intend on making it public what with a bunch of us being in school (and a small mod team)… but you’re still free to come in!!
