Jack was hungry. I don't think he's ever had candy before. (For @winchesterlesbian)
not adding it to the original post because it's a different tangent of a similar thought, of chuck's interference with jack, both before his birth and afterward... because i also have a lot of thoughts about this...
post i'm referring to is here, by scoobydoodean
but yes, i think chuck interfered wildly with jack through his whole story (and with billie to drive her to her desperate s15 plan, but that again is another completely different wild tangent of the same concept here, and i'll reserve yelling about that for later... or like... read some of my finale fix it fic i guess? lol)
ANYWAY. i think it was chuck activating the pain/fear response in jack when he was first exposed to "angel radio" in 13.01. and i don't know if i even registered that until he had a very similar response to his hallucinations of lucifer or whatever that was that hurt and scared him enough to lash out and kill mary in 14.17. because that wasn't jack's consistent, ongoing response to angel radio anywhere else in the series. that was definitely something different.
pushing and pushing to get his story, whatever it took
I still search for you everywhere You, the lone streetlight the fog wrapped around you like silk I'm alone in my own skin how strange it is to give oneself to another Nothing more than a sacrificial lamb to rise and fall again like Lazarus I ache for you in the blood dripping from my knuckles waiting for the day you are made anew
i will never be the same man i was before the widower arc
Lazarus Rising
My first waking thought is: what’s dead should stay dead. Stirring in my grave, pain cracks open my limbs As they heave off the heavy cloak of deathly lead
And darkness woven expertly around me by deep depression, A humble funeral shroud for my turbulent mind and body, Rendered lifeless in this life, and for good reason.
The waking is endless. Each of my extremities Trembles, tearing apart dry muscle from brittle bone, Nerves popping as blood quickens, and gritting teeth
I punch past my coffin’s cheap wood. I atone For my sins with ruptured knuckles, for my lies I breathe in the grave dirt that was my home.
When I breach the surface I hear the poet’s lines; They grip me tight. It fills me with dread To be alive, looking into a kind man’s eyes. What’s dead should stay dead.

Only a very few people in the world know that the celebrated and reclusive poet Jack Allen is just Kansas mechanic Dean Winchester, a high school dropout with a few bucks to his name. Not that it matters anymore; life has left him so wrung out he never wants to pick up another pen. Until, that is, a string of coincidences leads Dean to auditing a poetry course with one Dr. Castiel Novak. The professor is wildly intelligent, devastatingly handsome...and just so happens to be academia's foremost expert on the poetry of Jack Allen.
